In the morning, me and Hope go eat breakfast with Landon and Rafael.

Me, Landon, and Rafael are laughing and talking. Hope is really quiet. I think she's tired.

Hope interrupts my joke about Rafael. "Alexa? I was thinking about what happened yesterday and I was thinking maybe you should give your dad another chance."

Landon is the first person to react. "Hope, are you serious? This guy caused Alexa to come screaming and crying in my room. No. No way. My little sister is not going through that again."

Hope and Landon's relationship has improved. There are awkward moments between them, but mostly it's a comfortable situation.

"Landon, how many times have I told you about me and my father? My dad was Klaus Mikaelson. He said hurtful things to me too, but now I know that he had a hard time adjusting to having someone he cared about. Maybe it's the same with Alexa."

Rafael stays quiet throughout the whole conversation. He picks at his food.

"I appreciate you trying to see the good in everything, but there isn't any good in him. He's a horrible man, Hope. You're dad was an amazing man, but mine is evil. He doesn't care about me."

Hope leans closer to me. "There was a time when I said the same thing. Please, Alexa. Just talk to him."

Every part of me didn't want to believe Hope. There was no way Will was a good man. He was a monster, an evil monster. He never cared about me or my sister. He probably never even cared about my mother, but for Hope I agree.

"Fine." She gives me a huge smile and we go back to our conversation.

Rafael seemed uncomfortable while we start joking again.

Later on that day I went to talk to Will. "Back so soon?"

"I'm only here because of Hope."

Will rolls his eyes, scoffing. "Why the Mikealson baby?"

"I'm surprised. Don't you like power? And Hope is the most powerful. You should be jumping with joy."

He makes a disgusting sound. "Never. I like the power to run throughout the family. If she was a guy who you could create more life with and didn't ruin the entire laws of nature then maybe I would like her."

I lean forward in my chair. "You say one more horrible word about her, and I will kill you. Besides, my entire existence now is breaking the laws of nature. Thanks to my lovely girlfriend."

My dad raises his eyebrows. "Well I guess I'm a hypocrite." He stays silent for a moment. Although his look tells me he's not done talking. He smiles hugely after a while.

"I apologize. Let's start over okay? I apologize for abandoning you and I apologize for the things I've said about Hope. Why don't you tell me about yourself?"

"What do you want to know?"

Will listens to me as I tell him about my years after him and my mom. I tell him about the years I spent alone and the day Chris and Makayla came into my life. The stories are long because he asks a lot of questions. After telling him my story, he shares his.

He shares how his family always told him the harder he is on his kids the stronger they were. Will seemed to be a man with a lot of things going through his mind. Even with this whole story, I don't know how much is true. It's going to take a lot to say I'll ever trust him or love him again. After we get done talking, I tell him I'll be back soon.

On my way out of the basement, I run into Lizzie and MG. They have really been hitting it off lately. They've been dating for a little while. Lizzie was so oblivious to MGs crush on her.

"Hey what's up A." MG and I don't talk a lot, but he's a pretty chill dude. Sometimes I forget he's even a vampire because he doesn't act like it. He doesn't go out of his way to feed on blood. He hangs out with the witches and werewolves. MG is just to himself mainly.

"Hey, MG. Hey Lizzie." She smiles at me and waves.

"Hey. Did you go see your dad?"

I nod. "And how did that go?"

"Better. I didn't come out of the basement screaming and crying. I don't trust him though."

"Well, who would? The guys a monster." MG speaks in a duh tone. Lizzie hits MG.

"MG don't say things like that." Lizzie whisper yells. She looks at me slowly to see my reaction.

"No. It's okay. He is a monster. A monster that is my dad, so..." it's not like I can be mad. It's the truth.

It gets kind of awkward after that. MG grabs Lizzie's arm.

"Well we'll see you around, A."

Being cooped up in the school causes me to feel hot and stuffy. When I walk outside, I put on my headphones. It helps me think about everything. The full moon is coming up in a few days.

It hadn't slipped my mind. It just wasn't my main focus anymore. My dad was right in a way. Him breaking every bone in my body for hours taught me how to let the pain overwhelm me. When the full moon comes I won't fight it.

In the middle of my thoughts, I run into Jed and Kaleb. They both give me a little smile.

Kaleb laughs a little. "Damn girl. You look real emo." A smile forms on my lips. Jed doesn't laugh though. His face stays serious.

"Listen, Alexa. I'm sorry about kissing you in front of Hope. I hope everything's okay. If not, I'll talk to her."

Kaleb makes a face. "Man, you lucky to still be alive. Coming after Hope's girl? You should thank her for not making you disappear." He does another little laugh. Jed gives him a look telling him to go away. Kaleb throws up his hands laughing.

"Sorry about that. Anyways, I'm really really sorry if I came in between you guys."

"Oh get over yourself, Jed. You're not that special." It's meant to be playful, but Jed looks hurt. "In a non- mean way."

He looks down for a moment and looks back up. "Can I ask you a question, Alexa?" I nod. "Do you ever like me. In the week that you were here we had this connection. Can you tell me if it was real or was my mind playing games?"

"I don't see how this relates to anything. I'm with Hope now Jed. She's the person that I'm falling for."

He shakes his head. "Please answer the question. Did you ever have feelings for me?"

A moment passes before I answer. The last I wanted to do was hurt him. "No." My voice is quiet. For a moment, I think it's too quiet.

He doesn't say anything. All he does is just look down at me. My palms start to sweat. How is he going to react? Is he going to laugh? Cry? Or get so mad he never talks to me again?

He makes a face. He's mad and hurt at the same time. "Okay." After that he turns around, and walks away. He needs space. Hope comes up from behind me. She taps me shoulder, smiling.

"Hey. What was that about?"

I stay looking in the way of where Jed was. "He wanted me to admit my feelings for him."

Hope stops smiling. "And?" She steps in front of me. One of her eyebrows is slightly raised.

"And I told him that I never had feelings for him." I can see Hope's shoulders relax. "I just feel bad that's all." Hope laughs a little looking over here shoulder.

Jed watches us. His same facial expression from earlier on his face. "Jed is able to handle anything. Even a little rejection. It just hurts because he didn't do the rejecting. So, how did it go with your dad?"

"It went okay. He didn't completely ruin my day like yesterday. That doesn't mean that I can trust him or ever love him again."

Hope nods. "Yeah. That's okay. He's the one that left you not the other way around. You don't need to rush into forgiving him."

She pulls me into a hug. "Thank you, Hope. You've really made this whole entire situation a lot better."

"No need to thank me."
