Chapter 15: A mistaken Kiss

Me and Hope sleep facing each other. She wakes me up by moving a strand of hair out my face.

"Why did you do that?" My eyes are still closed, but I know Hope is watching me.

"I wanted to watch you sleep. Sorry I woke you up." My eyes finally open, slowly. Hope smiles at me and I smile back.

She scoots closer to me and grab my hand. "Is this real?"

"Of course it is."

"Doesn't feel like it."

I lean in and give Hope a kiss. "How about now?"

She fakes a contemplating look. "I think I need a few more times."

"Oh do you now?" Hope nods and leans in. We laying there kissing until there is a knock at the door.

"Who is it?"

Penelope comes marching in with an embarrassed Josie. "Josie suggested a double date. We going tonight. Want to join us?"

Josie walks in front of Penelope. "I told her not to bug you guys right now. I knew you were probably sleeping or doing other things. We'll come later."

Josie goes to turn around, but I speak up. "No. It's okay. We can finish this later."

Penelope laughs and raise an eyebrow. She leaves with Josie. Hope gives me a shocked look when they leave. "Why would you do that? It's our first night as a couple. I wanted it to be alone."

"Technically last night was our first night as a couple."

Hope gets out bed smiling. "You know what I mean."

"Yeah. I do. It's okay. After our little date, we can come back, and the whole night will be ours."

Hope rolls her eyes a little. "Yeah whatever."

"I'll see you tonight?"

"Yeah."

walking through the hallway, I bump into Jed. "Hey, Alexa."

"Hi Jed."

"I was just looking for you. Can we talk?" 

Me and Jed walk outside around the schools garden. "It's beautiful out here."

Jed nods. "Yeah."

We go sit down at a table. "I'm sorry about blaming you for everything that happened. I heard about your sister."

The thought of my sister brings my mind to the fact that I triggered my curse. In just a couple of days, I'll be breaking every bone in my body. The thought causes a shiver to roll down my back.

"It's okay."

Jed leans closer to me. "You know, I've never stopped liking you."

"But you started dating Rachel." Jed shakes his head laughing.

"We're done."

"Yeah. Well I'm not interested."

He raises an eyebrow. "We'll see about that." He leans in and kisses me. Jed doesn't even give me time to push him away.

"What the hell is going on here?"

Hopes voice causes Jed to fly back. She stand there with her arms crossed. Hope turns around and storms off. Jed's eyes are wide. I get up from the table and run after her.

"Where are you going, Alexa?" Jed's voice is quiet. He sounds a little hurt.

"I'm going after my girlfriend." The last thing I care about is Jed's feelings.

I don't hear what he says. My legs run after Hope. She runs all the way to her room. Slamming the door in my face. She forgot to lock it though.

Slowly opening the door, I walk into the room. "Hope he kissed me. That wasn't a two sided thing. I have no feelings for him."

She gets up and walks up to my face. "And you expect me to believe that?" 

"Yes. Hope we're in a relationship. Relationships should be built off of trust. Please say that you trust me."

Hope backs away from me a little. "I want to, but I can't."

"Okay. I'll be in my room when you've decided to trust me." The fact that she doesn't trust me hurts a little. It also makes sort of mad. It's our first day as a couple we already getting into fights. At this route, we'll be broken up by tonight.

I've stayed in my room for about an hour. Hope opens the door slightly.

"Jed came and talked to me. He explained everything. I owe you an apology. I'm sorry for not trusting you. Please don't say that I caused the end of us before it even begun." Hope sits down on my bed.

"Of course you didn't. We are in a relationship, we have to work together to get through whatever it is. That also means to not break up every time something goes down hill."

Hope gives me a hopeful look. "So... that means we're still together?"

I nod quickly. "Duh. You and me, Hope, forever."

Hope smiles at me and kisses me.

"Hey we should start getting ready for our date with Penelope and Josie."

Hope nods giving me a smile.
