Chapter 14: It's official

The next few days go by in a blur. Me and Hope haven't made our relationship official. There isn't really anything stopping us, except me.

One of my biggest fears keeps us apart. Each time I try to overcome it, something happens and I'm back at point A. My heart is breaking and I know Hope's is too.

She really has grown on me. Her laugh. Her smile. The way she talks about the people she cares about. Her blue eyes. The way she doesn't care about what others say. And mostly, the fact that she's strong, literally and emotionally and mentally.

Her being the only one of her kind, and still managing to put a smile on her face. Losing her parents and uncle within a close timeframe, and being able to laugh. Being able to not break down and cry everyday, and being  happy.

She's beautiful. Not only physically but internally. Her strength and compassion and draws me in. Hope's ability to be hugging and crying with you one moment and then going to murder a monster the next. She really is one of a kind.

Since Hope, Rafael, Jed, and Landon are all seniors they get special treatment. They get to leave campus sometimes. Go on school field trips. Today is one of those times. Alaric doesn't like them, but the administration has seniors go on field trips. They are going to some museum that's in town. Them and a few other schools in Mystic Falls.

That leaves me alone. Well not completely. Josie and Lizzie are still here along with Penelope.

We all have the same magic class together. The teacher is showing how to light things on fire.

"Now this doesn't mean you go out and lit your ex on fire."

Penelope turns to Josie and they share a funny moment. Both of them start to chuckle. Penelope leans to Josie's ear, but since me and Lizzie sit behind them we can hear.

"You know I'm actually glad you lit me on fire. This short hair is really great."

Josie leans over to Penelope's ear. "No problem babe."

Penelope winks at Josie and Josie blushes. She turns the correct way in her seat. The teacher stares at them.

"Is there anything you would like to share with the rest of us? I'm sure you know a few things about lighting things on fire."

Penelope laughs. "Actually we do. Have you ever wonder how I got this hairdo? Well, my lovely girlfriend lit me on fire and burned my hair off."

The teacher rolls her eyes and turns back around. Penelope and Josie laughs quietly.

Lizzie watches the whole thing. She has a sad expression on her face. "They're so in love. I wish there was someone for me."

She doesn't have to explain who she's thinking about. "Please don't tell me that you're still hooked on my brother."

Lizzie shrugs. "Oh gosh. Okay tell you what. How about we hang out today."

"We haven't hung out at all. Now that your precious little Hope Mikaelson is gone now you want to hangout? No thanks."

"Hey. Don't include me in you guys drama. Me and Hope are....complicated. We trying to figure things out, but just know that she isn't going anywhere. I have real feelings for her. Maybe if you guys would get along..."

Lizzie rolls her eyes. "Whatever. Quit your babbling. We can hang out."

I give her a smile, and she rolls her eyes playfully at me. After class, me and Lizzie hang out in the garden.

"So what's your plan? What are we going to do?"

"We are going to find you a boyfriend. Obviously you guys won't start dating today, but after a while it'll get there."
