Chapter 10:

It's been three weeks since Hope friend zoned me, and I've been laying low. Hope still came into my room to help me  with spells. Josie and Lizzie hang out with me at lunch sometimes, but not much.

Jed and the girl with the strawberry blond hair started dating. Rafael still was a big brother to me. He has been teaching me how to fight. Landon is a good big brother too. He tells me stories about him and Rafael and their adventures.

The monsters have still been coming, but I haven't been around them lately. Rafael loves the fact that I don't want to help with the monsters. He told me that that is the right choice considering I could get hurt.

The school has been amazing too. My grades are great, and I've been learning more and more spells. My werewolf side doesn't go without being noticed. There are moments when I let my temper get the best of me, and I can cause trouble, but Hope is usually there to help me or Rafael is there.

Hope showed me herself in werewolf form. It made me have a crush on her even more. Ever since her break up with Landon, she's seemed happier. She laughs a lot and I always see her smiling.

On my way to class, I see Jed and his girlfriend.

"Hi Jed."

"Hi. Alexa"

My attention goes to the girl. Jed has his arm around her. I extend my hand.

"We haven't met. I'm Alexa." She looks at my hand and scoffs.

"Rachel." She grabs Jed and walks away. "Well Rachel you're a total bitch."

"Ugh. Hey, I heard that." Her hair swings around as she turns.

"I didn't intend for it to be a secret." I walk around a corner and bump into someone.

"Hey. Sorry." It's Hope. She helps me pick up a few of my books.

"Hey, Alexa. I need your help. Could you help me?"

"Sure."

Hope takes me to her room. "Okay. The end of my senior year is coming up and I need to pick out a dress."

Hope pulls out a blue and red dress. "I can't choose between these two. I'm going to try them on and you tell me what you think."

My back faces Hope now and my body faces a mirror. I accidentally catch a glimpse of Hope. She is trying on the red dress. Every single atom tells me to turn around, but my body doesn't move. Hope sees me in the mirror in front of her.

She doesn't tell me to look away or anything. Our eyes just stay connected. "Can you help me fix my dress? It's stuck."

I walk over to where Hope stands in front of the mirror. She watches me as I fix the dress. "Thank you."

She turns around. Our faces are only inches apart. "I like this dress."

She looks at me confused. "But you didn't even see the other one yet."

"I don't have to. This is the one. You're so... beautiful."

Hope does a small smile as I place a strain of hair behind her ears. She is deciding what to say and I'm deciding what to do. Should I kiss her? She stares at my lips.

"Hey, there's this party at Mystic Falls High. You want to come?"

Hope shakes her head breaking our stare. "No. Parties aren't exactly my thing."

"I know. Look you have perfectly two dresses in front of you. Don't let those go to waste. Besides, I need a date."

She rolls her eyes smiling. "Okay. I'll wear the blue dress."
