Chapter 29: Attacks

"Alexa, what the hell?" Lizzie jumps up from my bed. She runs over to me and looks over at the wall. A purple light is coming from it.

Hope and Landon walks into the room. "You guys have to close the portal. Now!" Lizzie and Hope joins hands and is in the process of closing the process. A group of vampires jump through the portal.

They all start to attack us. I run over to Landon. A vampire tries to attack him, but Landon stakes her.

He turns towards Hope. "Good thing you gave me this." Hope does a small chuckle. Lizzie runs and opens my door. "Guys." We all run over to see what Lizzie is looking at.

Kids run all over the place screaming. The vampires scare all the kids, Dorian and Alaric come running around the hallways with their crossbows. They shoot the vampires. Hope and Lizzie walk around inflicting pain on the vampires.

"Landon where is Rafael?" Me and Landon walk around the school looking for Rafael.

Rafael is fighting some vampire, but another one comes. They both start to take down Rafael. I run over to help Rafael, but another vampire appears out of nowhere taking Landon. The vampire extends it's fangs by Landon's neck. The two vampires hold Rafael. He tries to get out of the grip. My mom appears out of nowhere.

"Now you have a decision to make, Alexa. Will it be your blood brother you've always dreamed of meeting? Or will it be the foster brother that knows how to be a shoulder to cry on? The choice is yours."

She has a daring look in eyes. Nothing like the way I remebered her. "Mom, you don't have to hurt anyone."

My mom gives me a fake sympathetic look. "Oh, but I do. You and your friends tortured me. I feel as if it's only fair I return the favor. Unless, you decide to come with me." She gives me a small, creepy smile.

Rafael looks over at me. "You don't have to go with her, Alexa. Save Landon. She will never hurt her own..." He's interuppeted by the two vampires hitting his stomach, He falls to the floor, wincing.

"Do it again, and i'll kill you." The hate inside of me at that moment is stronger than anything I've ever felt. My mom laughs.

"Your threats don't hurt me. Either way, I win."

Hope and Josie come from running around the corner. They have an angry expression on their faces. On the other side of us, Lizzie and Penelope runs to us. They both have an angry expression too.

I look at my mom and smile. "Five vampires against five powerful witches. It seems as if you're outnumbered, mother. Try again next time."

She looks from both pairs of witches and smiles. "This little group doesn't scare me." She tries to make a move, but I snap her neck. The vampires start to hiss.

"Are you guys ready?"

Penelope  does a chuckle. "Please. I was born ready."
More vampires start to come as we fight the ones that are already here. MG and Kaleb joined in helping us. The vampires start to run out of the door.

"We can't let them get out to the town." We all run after the vampires. Hope transforms into her werewolf form chasing after the vampires.  The vampires stop running and start to surround us.

'We have to close that portal." Penelope rolls her eyes as if she is tired of fighting. She folds her arms.

Lizzie and Josie looks around. They're trying to find a way out. Rafael and Landon are in a fighting position. I observe the group of vampires. Hope walks up next to me in her wolf form. "They're controlled. It's something making them want to attack us."

'Mailivore." Lizzie looks at me. She rolls her eyes and huffs. Dorian, Alaric, and Jed come out of the school with vervain filled water guns. They start to spray the vampires, and they start to fall to the floor. One by one the vampires start to get weak.

Hope runs off into the forest to transform back into her human form. All of the students start to run inside of the school. "You coming?" Josie turns to me once she sees i'm staying behind.

"In a minute." She nods and runs off. I wait for Hope to come back when Rachel catches my attention. "Help." She has a huge hole in her neck. The vampires must have attacked her. She is breathing slowly.

"Hold on. Hold on. I'll help you." I rush over to her. "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala." Rachel's breathing starts to go back to normal, but she is still bleeding a lot. Hope runs over to us.

'What happened?" Rachel tries to talk, but Hope shakes her head. "Nevermind, save your energy." She starts to focus and does a non-verbal spell. Rachel's neck slowly starts to close up again and it fixes.

Rachel starts to go back to her normal self. She exhales loudly. "Thanks." Hope gives her a small smile. 'No problem. What were you doing out here, anyways?"

Rachel hesitates. She doesn't want to answer, but she rolls her eyes and says, 'I seen you guys in trouble and I wanted to help."

Hope smiles and laughs.

I playfully hit Rachel. "Maybe you're not such a bitch after all." She laughs a little before rolling her eyes.

Hope joins in on the joke. "Yeah, I heard of you and your rudeness."

"I think i'm only rude because I don't really have any friends. Jed was my friend, but it was clear that he was into Alexa. " She sounds a little bitter.

Hope notices the sound of Rachel's voice. "Well, Alexa here is my girlfriend, so you don't have to worry about that. And we'll be your friends."

"Yeah, Sistas before mistas." I pull Rachel into a hug, and she hugs back. She has this small smile on her face.

Rachel strawberry blonde hair is curled but it's a little wild. She has green-blue eyes and they shine bright. Her caramel complexion is smooth, but is covered in dirt.

She's the sort of girl that people would say should model. She has everything for it: a perfect body, face, smile, personality, and everything else a model needs.

"We should go help." Hope gets up and starts walking. I follow with Rachel behind me.

Inside, Emma is closing the portal. She's chanting some spell.

The purple light slowly starts to go away. My dad was in that world. That hits me hard. One step through that door and I could've been with him. But he wanted me to live and he's going to be at peace. He'll be fine, and so will I. A smile creeps onto my face as I stare at the wall.

"Thank you, Emma." Hope hugs her. Alaric sits on my bed waiting for Emma. After everyone leaves, Landon comes into my room.

MG and Kaleb following them.

"Ugh. Guys, I'm not in the mood for one of you guys pranks." Folding my clothes, I turn towards them. They have this scared look on their faces.

"Alexa, something's wrong with Hope. She's hurt."

"She's what?!" Panic floods through me. Hope is one of the only four people I care about.

MG starts to laugh first. "We playing with you."

"Guys!" I throw a pillow at them. Kaleb turns towards Landon.

"Aye, I told you he was going to crack first." Kaleb and Landon starts to laugh even more.

"Why do you guys always prank me with Hope?" Every single prank has been with Hope: her face melting, her crying and then turning into a monster, and now this.

"She's the most important to you." There right. Hope, Lizzie, Rafael, and Landon are the most important people in my life. Without them, nothing would matter to me.

The boys stay with me and we laugh and talk. They ask me about how I feel after losing my dad. Kaleb usually doesn't care about things. He isn't a feelings sort of guy, but he listens closely. MG looks at me pitiful. Landon gives me an understanding look. Before they leave, we talk about something else to lighten up the mood.
