"Alexa, you have to hurry and get up! Come on!" My dads voice echos through my head. He sounds like he's in a hurry, and he picks me up from my bed.

"Dad, we can't leave Hope." She is laying down in the bed, asleep. Her face is relaxed.

My dad picks up the pace while holding me on his shoulder. "She'll be alright. After this, everyone will be alright. Just trust me." He walks for a little bit through the school and out to the town.

We make it to a small restaurant in Mystic Falls. He sets me down on a chair and sits across from me. A smile forms on his face.

"Wait. How are you here? You were... you just..." The word 'dead' can't come out my mouth. Saying that he is dead and that this is some fantasy dream hurts me.

"I managed to talk to you, but we don't have much time." He starts to look around. I can tell he is searching for someone. My eyes follow his as he look around from person to person. After us looking around for a few seconds he turns towards me.

"Listen, Alexa there is something you should know. The last key to Mailivore is the sacrifice of a family. It has to be a supernatural family and they have to be close to the owners of Mailivore. Centuries ago, our ancestors volunteered. They never told us that we had to die, so we thought the time would never come. Turns out that time is here."

My dad gives me a serious look. He wants me to pay attention to him. It's hard to not cry and hug him. It's hard to not want to spend the last remaining moments telling stories of adventures. At some point though I'll have to let go. Rip the bandage off, so I decide to listen.

"So what you're telling me is that our family is going to die?" The whole situation seems a little fakish.

"That's the plan." My dad sees my face. I'm scared. He leans closer to me. "But you are going to break that plan. I need you to make sure you stay alive. Don't let anybody get too close to you."

I nod. "Okay."

"And don't kill your mom. She's apart of the key too." My dad gives me a small smile. "Wanna spend some more time together?"

"Yeah. Let's walk around this town." Me and Dad go to different restaurants in Mystic Falls. We get our faces painted, go to music shops, and go to the park.

The sun starts to set and I know that this dream is about to end. Spending the day with my dad allows me to get some real closure. There is one question that is in my head as we walk back to the school.

"Dad, are you at peace?" My eyes stay on the ground. He will be honest and hearing him say that he isn't at peace will make me fall apart.

"Not yet. This world is the passing part. I just couldn't move on without saying goodbye to my little girl and having one day of peace." He stops walking and rub my head.

"This was nice. Being in those chains didn't allow me to be a good dad to you. I know that you have become the strong, independent, beautiful young woman I always thought you would be. I love you so much, Alexa. You're everything to me."

He pulls me into a hug. I wrap my arms around my dad not wanting to let go of him. Our hug is interrupted by some people.

"Well look who it is. Will. We've missed you." A girl with knee high black boots come up to us. My dad place me behind him.

A group of guys come from behind the girl. She turns halfway to them and smile. "Your time is up." She looks at me. "It's time to say goodbye to your dad. We gave you longer then the requested time."

My dad turns towards me. "Hey. I need you to run. Run as fast as you can."

"But dad look at them. They're dangerous." I look at the woman. She raises an eyebrow and chuckles a little.

"Don't worry about them. Don't worry about me. Worry about yourself. Hey remember what I told you. I love you and I'm so proud of you." He rubs the side of my face too.

"I love you too." He gives me a small smile with a wink and turns around.

"Let's finish what we started." My dad starts to fight all the guys running towards him. I can't see what he's doing because I'm running towards the school.

Flames comes from the corner of my eyes. Screams echo through my ears. My dads screams isn't one, so I know that he isn't hurt.

It seems like the run is never ending. I'm almost at the school when the girl from earlier appears in front of me.

"Did you really think that you could get away that easily?" She extends her fangs and hisses at me.

She's a vampire. Her long blonde hair flies back as she attacks me. Her fangs sinks deep into my neck. The blood starts to leave my body quickly. My body starts to go limp, but as I fall to the ground I see a stick.

Stabbing the stick through the girl was easy. It was getting away that was hard. When I tried to run away, the girl catches my leg causing me to fall to the floor. One kick to the face causes the girl to fall back to the ground.

Now as I run, I'm on the school grounds. It's dark out. As I make my way to the door the girl appears in front of me.

"You know, I've always wanted to live again. One trip through that door and I'll be able to." She circles around me.

My eyes flicker between her and the door. The time to run is close, but I just don't know when that time will be. The girl walks around me five times before I decide to run. I'm almost at the door when I feel her grabbing me. She throws me far and I fall against a tree.

The tree hits me hard and I fall to the ground. I slowly try to get up, but the girl comes and kicks me causing me to fall back.

"You're going to be stuck in this world. A little piece of advice: don't try to be the good girl." She smiles as she turn around and starts to walk to the door.

"No!" The girl is almost through the door, but she suddenly stops. A ring that Hope had gave me yesterday falls out my pocket.

My mind flashes to that moment.

"You must keep this on you at all times." Hope had a serious facial expression.

"Why? What's it supposed to do?" I sort of laugh.

"Nothing. It's just a symbol of how much I care about you." Her face relaxes and she smiles.

Now I know what the ring is for. It's a way for me to keep my witch powers since my necklace was destroyed.

"Phesmatos superous em animi." The vampire falls to the floor. She starts to yell.

I slowly manage to get up and walk over to where she is. The vampire grabs my foot.

"I'm a lot stronger than you think. Child spells won't work." She pushes me back, but she doesn't get very far.

My mind thinks of this vampire getting through the portal. Who does she know? What's her connection to Mailivore? If she gets through, she'll hurt the people I care about.

The thoughts rushed into my mind causing me to stick my hand through her chest and rip her heart out. The girl gives me a shocked look. "Not so strong now are you?"

She gives me an angry before falling to the floor. A group of other vampires come.

"Get her!" There is no time to move. The vampires are grabbing me pulling me away from the door. More vampires start to run towards the portal.

"Ossox!" All of the vampires fall to the floor screaming. The sounds of their bones breaking surrounds the area.

More vampires come. There isn't enough time to think of a spell, so I have to use the training i've been doing with Rafael.

The more the vampires come the harder I have to fight them. As soon as I see no vampires coming, I jump through the door.
