On the bus, it's only me, Rachel, and some group of teenagers. They look like they came back from a party and didn't have a car.

Rachel turns towards me. "We have to cloak ourselves." She whispered a spell, and then gives me a smile. "So where are we going? I say we go up north. Ooh or maybe down south. Or maybe California. I've heard that place is the best place to party."

Her smile fades as I shrug and look out the window. "Oh my gosh. If you're going to be all sad, we can gladly go back."

"I'm not sad." She walks in front of me. "Really? You're acting like you're in some sad music video."

We decided to not decide where to go. Rachel tells me how she used to sneak out a lot before coming to the school. Her parents always thought it was because of her being a witch. She told me it was because they didn't talk about anything other than being a witch and how a witch should be.

Rachel is the sort of person that people would call a bitch. She appears to be rude, snobby, and selfish, but spending about two hours on different buses proves all of that wrong. She really is just a girl who's lost.

She needs guidance and doesn't feel like she's getting it from the school. We get off the bus and start walking.

Rachel starts complaining about her heels hurting her feet. When she takes them off, she complains about the dirt hurting her feet.

"Listen, I would really appreciate it if you didn't complain. It's not going to get you anywhere."

Rachel rolls her eyes as she puts her heels back on. We walk for a long time before a car on the road pulls over.

"Rachel? Rachel, what are you doing? You're supposed to be at school." A middle aged woman jumps out of a van. She has on heels too. She looks like a mom who tries to be cool.

In the van, a little boy sits in the back seat. Rachel never mentioned a little sibling.

"Me and my friend here was taking a walk. We were just walking back." Rachel grabs my hand and starts to turn around but her mom grabs her.

"Oh. It's no problem. I'll take you guys." Rachel's mom gives me a smile and leads us to the van.

Rachel's brother name is Cameron. He's ten and he talks non stop. For most of the ride, Rachel and Cameron argue. Her mom telling them be quiet as she tries to talk to me.

Rachel turns back around. She looks at the road and then at me in the rear view mirror and winks. Rachel faces her mother and starts to focus on her. She whispered some words and her mom stops talking and loses control of the wheel.

"Rachel stop it! Rachel!" In the backseat I try to protect Cameron. He isn't crying or anything. His eyes stay on the road. Luckily we don't crash and I think that's because of Cameron.

The car stops suddenly and the mom is unconscious. Cameron and Rachel give each other a knowing look before Rachel gets out of the car.

I check the mom's pulse. She's alive. "You can go. I got it from here." Cameron takes off his seatbelt and goes to his mom.

Rachel opens my door. "Come on. We don't have much time before the spell wears off." She hurried ahead of me. Her strawberry hair blowing the wind and her heels barely making sound because of the wind.

"What was that Rachel? Why would you do that?" I'm furious. She could've seriously hurt me, or her mom, or her ten year old brother. Rachel turns around and smiles.

"Relax. They'll be fine." She sees that my face is still serious. This isn't funny at all. "Listen, I've done this before. Try to sneak out of the school, my mom catches me, and what happened now happens again."

She shrugs and turns back around. Walking in the opposite way of the school. Rachel thinks that what happened was a joke, but it isn't. Her mom was nice and was trying to help. Now I know why her parents sent her to that school. She crazy. Maybe I'm crazier because I still follow her.

We walk for a good amount of time before a note appears in my pocket. Rachel is walking ahead nodding to some music playing on her phone. The note is from Lizzie.

"Alexa, something's wrong with Hope. She's freaking out over you leaving. You have to come back. Please hurry. Lizzie."

An enormous amount of guilt washes over me. She's worried because of me, she's in trouble because of me. It's all my fault.

"Hey, what's wrong? You okay?" Rachel's voice gets closer and closer. "What is that? Alexa?!"

I shove the note back in my pocket before she can read it. The last thing I need is for her to know about me being guilty. "We-We have to go back."

"What?" She walks up to me and crosses her arms. "No. No way. I'm staying."

"Good for you. I'm going back." My backpack almost falls off my shoulder. Hope is in trouble because of me.

She's freaking out because I was selfish. Surprisingly Rachel follows me. She stays quiet the entire walk back. The moon shines on the school.

We almost get to gate when I feel my bones break. "It's the full moon. Oh my gosh." She starts to back away.

"You need to leave, Rachel. Go tell Hope that I'm okay. I'm perfectly fine." She shakes her head.

"Rachel... leave!" My other leg starts to twist and I fall to the floor. The second time turning is not as bad as the first time, but it still hurts.

Rachel stays with me as I turn into a wolf. She tries to calm me, and I try to get her to leave. I'm almost done turning when she sees something in the dark.

Her eyes go big. "Alexa, look." As I look, my face turns into my wolf form. It's a group of people who stand five feet apart from us. One of the boys step forward and yells. His lizard looking tongue reaches out far.

The rest of the group follows suit and they start running towards us. Rachel starts saying a spell and I run up to the group human-lizard hybrids.

The rest of it was a blur. The lizards attacked us and we tried our best to fight them off. They were actually surprisingly strong. It was hard to fight them off. Somewhere in the middle of the battle, I hear MG and Kaleb. It gets easier to defend ourselves with their help. That is u
until a tail wraps around my neck making me lose my breath.
