Omkara convinced Shivaay for the alliance, the next morning, after Jahnvi broke the news to him, Rudra and Gauri.
"Shivaay, remember when you thought that I was the illegitimate son of Mr. Oberoi, you went to such great lengths to keep the secret from me, even broke up with Annika bhaabhi. But for a single moment did you regret my supposed origins, did you love me less?" asked Omkara.
"What are you saying, Om? You are my brother, and I would've, and will continue to love you no matter what" said Shivaay.
"Then its hypocritical of you to shun Dev for something that you didn't judge me for" said Om.
"But you are not illegitimate, Om" said Shivaay.
Omkara looked at his brother hard.
"Yes, yes, I get your point" sighed Shivaay. "I just....I just want best for Prinku, she is our little sister after all."
"And she's made a good choice this time, not that Ranveer was her choice, he forced her, but she has evolved after that terrible experience, and Mom has done all the research on the Chhabras to make sure they aren't hiding anything else. We both did agree, when they came here last year, that Dev seemed like a nice guy" insisted Omkara.
"Okay, if Badi Maa, and Bade Papa, and you are fine with this alliance, and Prinku is happy, then I am okay with it too" said Shivaay, giving a small smile.
A week later, it was the day of Priyanka's Roka with Dev.
The Chhabras had come down from the States the day before, and met formally for cementing the marriage proposal.
"Rudy, are you crying?" asked Soumya.
She and Rudra were on a quick skype session. Soumya had logged in for a few minutes to wish Prinku.
"Yeah, a little, I mean, my little baby is going to get married" sniffed Rudra.
"Yes, but next year Rudy bhaiyaa, after I complete my post-graduation. Now move aside, and let me say hi to Soumya" said Prinku, who had just entered the room.
"Hi Priyanka! I am so happy for you, that everything worked out. Dev is a really nice guy, and I am glad you both got a second shot at this relationship" said Soumya enthusiastically.
"Thanks Soumya!" blushed Prinku. "Chalo, I think Mom is calling me, I'll skype with you tomorrow."
Soumya sent a flying kiss to Rudra before logging off, which Rudra gestured to capture in his fist. He shut down his laptop and went downstairs for the ceremony.
"I'm so glad that you managed to convince Shivaay for the Roka, Om" said Annika.
"All credit due to you bhaabhi, you've changed him for the better" said Omkara.
"Credit? Change? Did someone say that I've changed for the better? Meaning I wasn't the best before?" said Shivaay in mock anger, joining his wife and brother.
"Oh c'mon Billuji, you were as boring as that kaali koffee (black coffee) you keep drinking, I made your life interesting" said Annika.
"Om, do you agree with that?" asked Shivaay.
"Well, I, er, bhaabhi is not wrong, I guess" said Om.
"You guess? Fine then, if you both team up then, where is Gauri? Gauri!" Shivaay looked around for Gauri.
