October walked into the hotel dragging her feet. She had woken up this morning with a headache and she could remember almost everything that happened the night before. She walked to Mary's counter in the lobby.
“Good morning.”October greeted and yawned.
Mary dropped the keys on the counter.
“Your office has already been cleaned.”
October nodded.
“Yeah, thank you.”she turned to go but turned back again.“Is the boss around?”
Just to make sure.
“I wouldn't know.”Mary answered and paused.“Oh,yes. He's not.”
October nodded and yawned again. Thank God.
“And he left a message for you.”
“Me?”October asked stopping her yawn mid-way.
“He said to pick up and sort the boxes of papers on his desk.”
“Will he be back soon?”
“Don't ask me. If someone travelled to Lagos for business, would he be back soon?”
“Business?”October was surprised,but then it all came rushing to her. She was supposed to travel with him. He must have left her. She gasped.
“Did he look angry?”
Mary shook her head.
“He left with Kennedy,so you're in charge till next tomorrow.”
October sighed in relief. She picked up he keys.
“Thank you. ”October looked around.“And Mary,”October started,her gaze falling back on Mary.“Whatever side of the bed you woke up on today,is definitely the right side. Don't let anyone frustrate you.” October said and smiled. Mary returned the smile a little bit before October walked away.

Chizoba knocked on the door to October's office.
“Come in.”
Chizoba pulled the door open and walked in with Paul carrying some boxes in behind her. She was carrying only one. She dropped it on the table.
“Ah-ah. Chizoba, aren't you supposed to be in school?”October asked Chizoba. Chizoba shook her head.
“That's all he left.”Paul said. October thanked Paul and he left.
“Why are you here?”October asked Chizoba.
“Nothing.”Chizoba answered and turned to go.
“Chizoba,come here.” October called her back. She halted and turned to October. She walked back to October's table.
“What happened?”October enquired.
Chizoba looked around uncomfortably.
“It's okay. You can tell me.”
“It's summer lesson and I won't be allowed to attend because I owe school fees.”
“Oh.”October nodded.
“It's nothing.”Chizoba smiled.
“What school?”
“Jewel Model School.”Chizoba quietly answered.
“How much?”
“Forty six.”
“For last term right?”
Chizoba shook her head.
“For last term and the previous one?”
Chizoba nodded.
“Okay,meet me in the evening.”October said.
“Thank you so much.”Chizoba said.
“It's no problem.” October smiled.“Just go and continue with what you were doing.”
