"How did you even know that guy?" I heard Dad question "What guy?" "The guy you made end up in a wheelchair." Guy? Wheelchair? How? When ? My mind became an instant mess, the funny thing was I had no idea as to which guy he was referring to. _____________________________________________________________________ MOST IMPRESSIVE RATINGS so far: #2 Blockbuster #1 Slay Queen #15 Naija #27 Mischief _____________________________________________________________________

"You are not going back to that man. Over my dead body!" He yelled at me with so much anger that I was at the verge of tears. With tears already in my eyes, I feebly replied "But he's dying and_" "So let him die and before he does let him suffer!" I gasped at his response. He spoke about my father with great hate and all I could do was sit there and cry. "Listen to me Fadesewa" his voice was softer this time around. "I don't want you to go back there. He may be at the verge of death for all I care, but he failed as a father. For Christ's sake Sewa, he kicked you out of his house for not obeying his rules_" "Whatever you say, always keep in mind that that man is my father. The one who was there when my mum wasn't. So let me bare the cross and go see him." I cut him off with a cold voice that sent chills down his spine. He gazed into my eyes almost as if he was trying to figure out if I was possessed. "You'll regret this" he simply said and walked away. "Then so be it" I whispered quietly to myself in his absence, wiping away my tears. Nkasi's mother: "If I had not married an Osu, i will not be going through what I am going through today" she blurted out. Nkasi's father was stunned by what his ears were hearing:"Obiageli, what did you just say?" he asked, calling her name, which he rarely did. Nkasi's mother moved backwards slowly, waiting to run away if her husband came towards her, because she knew that she had just insulted him. In igboland, predominantly where the Nri culture is practiced, there are two classes of people; the Osu and the Nwadiala. The Osu are those whose fore- fathers were sacrificed to gods, and made slaves. Therefore, generations after them carried the curse which was the mark of the gods. While the Nwadiala, were the free born and sons of the soil. The Osu are treated as inferior human beings in a state of permanent and irreversible disability. In most cases they reside very close to shrines and marketplaces. They are not allowed to dance, drink, hold hands, associate or have sexual relations with Nwadiala. This was the predicament of Nkasi and her family. Nkasi's mother, Obiageli was from a large family that had a lot of children, so when she defiled her family, they just ostracized her. But in worst cases, the Osu who wanted to marry a freeborn stood the risk of death, as the family members of the freeborn could go to any length to remove the insult they felt. Nkasi's father picked up an axe that was lying around and ran after his wife, who ran away, screaming on the top of her voice. An Osu could kill for being called an Osu to the face, so at this moment, Nkasi's father was not himself, all he could think about, was his own wife calling him an Osu to his face. The worst part of the situation is that the villagers, who were coming back from their day's activities, saw the husband pursuing his wife with an axe and pretended not to see; they had no business with the Osu. Nkasi's father's anger did not get spent, until he caught up with his wife and swung the axe.

Most dismiss them. Àjàó doesn't. He has dreamed of falling skies and crying rivers, and the wind has never spoken to him without reason. With Ẹwà, a crane who rides the air, and Akilápá, a sharp-tongued agama lizard, Àjàó crosses a land already coming apart. Corruption follows their steps, truth is hard to trust, and three ancestral charms of Earth, Air, and Water, may be the only thing standing between the savanna and ruin. _________________________________________________ Most impressive rankings: #3 in animals #7 in africa

INSIDE THE BOOK::::::::: "So you can't see it too?" she said dropping her tea cup. "see what exactly ma?" I asked getting confused. " Her child's eyes. Genesis's child had your eyes and she talks just like you too. Sharp mouthed, brave, open minded and let's not forget she's not shy either" she tried pointing out. "With all due respect ma, all these could be minor coincidence and nothings else. I saw them myself having fun on his bed and she slept there comfortably putting on what I can't even call clothes" I was already getting angry remembering the scene that took place years ago. "I dont know what you mean or what happened but I'm a mother and I know what I'm saying. That child is yours" she drank out of her tea cup. It couldn't be, I mean I saw them, she cheated and they wanted to give me someone else's child to call my own but what if it was true.
