Soumya didn't want to hurt Rudra's feelings by voicing out her thoughts, but she made a mental note to look into this thing further. Something did not set right with her.

"Sumo, did your mother tell you about, you know...." asked Rudra, approaching the other issue about Soumya's biological mother hesitantly.

"Aaiee is still looking up details from long back, to locate my mother. But I think she'll succeed soon, and I'll get to know" said Soumya, trying to sound casual, but failing miserably.

"Soumya, it will be fine. You don't have to meet her if you don't want to, if its too much" said Rudra.

"No, Rudra, I want to. I just...." broke off Soumya.

"Are wondering what will you say to them after so many years?" asked Rudra.

Soumya sighed.

"Lets go and have some ice-cream. We have got free time today, and we are wasting it doing extra study. Time for an ice-cream date" said Rudra.

Soumya chuckled.

Gauri couldn't believe her luck.

After seeing so much misery all these years, it seemed like things were going to right for her finally. She found her sister back, Kali Thakur was dead months back, no one was hunting her, her mother was alive and well, she going to make something more of her life...was everything really falling in place for her finally?

She saw Omkaraji, and sighed. No, not everything

"How was your day?" asked Omkara, approaching Gauri.

"Good" Gauri replied and walked off in the direction to her room.

Why is she so angry? Omkara wondered to himself. He knew she was still not convinced with the exhibition gesture, but well, what else could he do? It looked like Gauri refused to give him an inch, until he did or said something drastic, but what can he say? What is he supposed to say?

She wasn't angry at him, no. She was just afraid. What was the point? Gauri asked herself. She could pretend everything was fine, until one day, he got angry at her again, and said that she had no place in his life or he didn't trust her, or something to that effect. Whats the point of even trying to build something when one is always doubtful that it could collapse in one moment?

Gauri thought about the rest of her day. Nana had introduced her to a group of women like herself, who were learning how to start a small business of their own and gain certain vocational training, transforming their tailoring and designing skills into something that could bring more income for them. The entire day, Gauri spent working with that group. The good part was that Gauri could take her work home, and work according to her time schedule. The best thing, however, was that Nana introduced her to a new tutor. He wanted to speed up Gauri's education. She was going to have daily classes now, and the tutor was specially going to educate her in commerce.

Gauri was determined to succeed at this. Nanaji had shown so much confidence in her. It reminded her of her father, who had full faith in her capabilities. Gauri would not disappoint him, she would work hard, day and night, and prove his estimation of her correct.

"Gauri, I was thinking of something" said Annika, sounding thoughtful.

They were sitting in Gauri's room, erstwhile guest room, in the morning, before breakfast.

"Boliya na, Jiji (Tell Jiji)" said Gauri, as she packed her bags for her daily class.

She had told Annika about Nanaji accelerating her education and Annika was pleased that her younger sister will get a chance to complete her education.

"Gauri, I never thought I will find you alive, let alone have you back in my life. I suppressed all the memories from before our separation, because it became a past life for me, one which I did not want to revisit because of all the painful memories. But now that I have found you back, I'm not afraid of those memories anymore. And I want to reclaim our past, Chutki" said Annika clutching Gauri's hand, looking at her with an earnest expression.

Gauri, however, was slightly hesitant on this issue.

"Jiji, call me orthodox or foolish, but we found each other due to fate, none of us tried to really find each other. It happened by accident because Shankarji wanted to correct that accident that separated us. But I have a strange feeling about trying to find out our past. What if there is nothing to find? Are our parents still alive? And what if what we find is not to our liking?" asked Gauri sounding a little scared.

"I understand Gauri. I used to think like that too, run away from the past, worrying what it will bring. Majorly because I suspected that I belong to a lower class family and Shivaay will leave me if he finds that truth. But now that Shivaay and I have grown stronger, so has my belief, my need to know about our past, Gauri. How bad can it be Chutki? If our parents are dead, it won't add to our pain, because we spent our entire lives assuming they are dead, but imagine if they are alive?" asked Annika, her eyes wide with hope, something she had stopped believing in until she met the Oberois.

Gauri couldn't help it, she had always believed that good things will happen to her one day, always remained hopeful. How could she give up now, when her sister, who had lost her faith, was hopeful that their fates will favor them? For the sake of her sister, Gauri agreed, and smiled.

It was just the ill feeling in the pit of her stomach that something big was about to be unleashed, some revelation for which they were unprepared for.
