Chapter 44- We're Having a Baby

Sabrina's POV

I wake up by the sound of Shawn's raspy voice whispering on my ear
"Good morning beautiful" I groan and turn around so that my back is facing him
"Five more minutes" I can hear him chuckle
"It's 11 am, don't you think that it might be time to wake up?"
"It's my free day and I don't get a lot of them so let me sleep" I say all frustrated: my head kinda hurts and I've been feeling very tired for the last three days.
"Does your head still hurts?" I nod in response
"How much from one to ten?"
"My ears will start bleeding if you don't stop talking" He sighs
"I'll take that as a ten" He stands up and walks out of the room. Finally, I can sleep for another-
"Take this" Never mind, I'll never be able to have a good night sleep.
Shawn walks in with a glass of water and a pill.
"Can I sleep after taking this?" I sit up and rub my eyes
"It's too late to keep sleeping baby, remember that we're trying to have a normal sleeping schedule, not the one from touring" I take the pill and swallows it with a little bit of water
"You're right" I leave the glass of water on the bedside time and stretch my arms
"Are you feeling better?"
"Yeah, I'm good now, what's for breakfast?" I smile
"Waffles"
"I can't wait to eat them!" I stand up and I immediately start feeling dizzy so I rest my arm on the wall, searching for support
"Oh my god Sab are you okay?!" Shawn runs up to me and helps me to stay up by wrapping his arm on my waist while I wrap mine around his shoulders
"Yeah I'm good Shawn, don't worry"
"You can't even stand, that's it: we're going to see a doctor now"
"Shawn I said-"
"I don't care what you say! Look at you!"
"Okay dude, chill"
"I won't chill until I know what's happening to you! I'm already calling a taxi, get dressed and we'll go to the best hospital of the city: I need experts for this" He's so dramatic: I'm just tired, my head hurts and I slightly feel dizzy but it's nothing serious.
After he calls the taxi I get dressed and go out of the building
"Damn it! He was supposed to be here ten minutes ago!"
"Shawn you're over reacting" I sigh
"How the fuck would you feel if you saw me in your state?!" I open my mouth to reply but I can't think of anything to say: he's right.
"Exactly" He looks at the phone and runs his hands through his hair.
The taxi finally arrives and we get to the hospital.
We're currently waiting for my turn: Shawn is pacing around all nervous while I'm sitting on a chair.
"Miss. Carpenter?" A woman says
"That's me" I smile and stand up. Shawn is already next to me, ready to hold me in case I fall.
"Follow me" we get to the doctor's office and he starts checking me
"What's the problem ma'am?"
"I've been-" Shawn interrupts me
"She's been feeling tired and dizzy and she also has a headache and two days ago she puked" I only puked because there was probably something wrong with the meat that Shawn cooked!
"Hmm I see" The doctor then proceeds to ask me other questions and decides to make me take a blood taste.
"Are you ready?" I nod. He inserts the needle of the syringe in my vein and takes a little bit of my blood. I admit it, I'm not a big fan of needles so it takes me a lot of patience to not cry.
"You'll stay under observation here until the results show up, this'll take some hours. You can change and take the room eleven"
"Okay, thanks" I smile and a couple of nurses lead me to the room, I change and lie down on the bed, it's really comfy: it's so comfortable that I could even sl-
"How are we feeling?" Of course. Shawn comes in with a bag of m&m's
"Are those for me?" I ask with a smile, he's so cute and sweet.
"Yes, but you'll eat them after we find out what's going on with you and the results come out" I sigh
"I want some chocolate"
"And I want you to be okay"
"I am"
"Then why do you feel like shit?"
"When you feel like shit on period!" I sing out loud
"But you're not on your period"
"I know, I just wanted to change argument" He chuckles
"I'm gonna call your family now, I'll be back in ten" I nod
"Okay" After he walks out I'm left all alone and I don't know what to do so I continue signing the period song
"When you feel like shit on your period" I repeat this phrase over and over until I a thought runs through my mind.
Period, period, period.... Oh my god my period! Wait, it's only the 5th, it should come in two weeks so it's impossible that I might be pregnant. I don't know how I would feel if I discovered that I was having a baby again. Angry? Happy? Sad? Scared? I shake my thoughts and start thinking about Shawn, he's been out for more than ten minutes. Well, better, I can sleep now. I finally manage to close my eyes and start dreaming...

"Hey baby" Shawn slightly shakes me and I wake up
"What's up?" I open my eyes
"You've been asleep for four hours and the nurse said that the doctor was gonna come here to tell us the results soon"
"That's awesome" I yawn
"I don't think it's anything serious, the nurse told me that there was nothing to worry about"
"Great! I told you that I was fine" He chuckles
"Yeah, I guess you were right" After Shawn finishes his sentence the doctor comes in
"I have the results" He smiles
"What's wrong with me then?"
"Oh trust me, there's nothing wrong with you. Actually, congrats, you're having a baby"

These words keep running through my mind as my smile disappears
"Oh, that's... great?" I don't know how I'm feeling: I'm hella happy but also scared, what if it ends like my last pregnancy?
I glance at Shawn who has my same expression
"It really is great" the doctor seems a little bit weirded out
"So uhm... you can leave this room whenever you're ready, congratulations again" he walks away
"So...we're having another baby"
"Yeah" I reply
"Then why aren't we jumping of joy?"
"...'cause we're scared"
"True" He takes a deep breath and holds my hands
"I'll do my best to protect you both" I smile
"Thank you Shawn"
"I'll be there for you all the time. I'll cook and clean the house and-"
"Okay I'm pregnant not invalid" I chuckle
"Sorry" We then head back home and I lie down on the couch
"Shawn?"
"Yeah?"
"Can I eat those m&m's?" He shakes his head and sits next to me
"Chocolate is not good for the baby" I sigh
"Right, I forgot" I gently rub my hand on my tummy and Shawn does the same
"We're having a baby" He kisses my cheek"
"Yeah, we are" I smile
"It's gonna be scary and difficult, you know that, right?" I say
"I know, but there's no obstacle that can divide us. In fact, a part of us is always gonna be tied up to the other from now on" He kisses my tummy and whispers
"Hello baby, I'm your daddy and I already love you" I chuckle at his cuteness.
This is gonna be hard, but nothing's ever too hard if I'm with Shawn.
