Pulling Heart Strings

Chapter 96

Rose's pov.

After having a romantic dinner Stephen and I are driving. I don't know where. The whole evening seems to be surprise. "Come on Stephen can't you atleast give me a little hint?" I pouted but he just shrugged. "It's not too long baby patience is the key."

I groaned and rolled my eyes. I heard him chuckle. He placed a hand on my thigh rubbing it gently. I felt this weird tension. I turned to him and glared. "Don't." He smirked and removed his hand. "Tonight I'm getting you." He ran a hand through his hair.

"Confident aren't we?" I raised an eyebrow. "Trust me after what's gonna come you will please me." I rolled my eyes. "We will see." He smiled. "We sure will." I must get an award for rolling my eyes this much. The car came to an halt and before I could get out Stephen did.

He opened the door for me placing a hand over my eyes and the other resting on my shoulder. "Why so secretive?" I'm impatient I know. "You'll see." He slowly guided me. I walked without knowing where. After what felt like an eternity we stopped.

"Don't open your eyes." He whispered before the warmth of his body left mine. After some moving noises and all he said "Now open." I nodded rubbing my eyes slightly. When I looked around I was standing in a beautiful landscape. Surrounded by nothing but pure nature.

Next to me a beautiful waterfall. I screeched in joy making Stephen laugh. I turned around to find him standing behind me. He looked down at me with one of the most hearty smile. I smiled back. "Do I have the honour to dance with my beautiful lady?"

I giggled at his charm which Defintily worked. "Sure." He turned on some slow yet romantic music. I instantly felt the music get to me. Stephen took my hand in his and pulled me close to him resting his other hand on my lower back. I placed my hand on his shoulder and looked up into those mesmerising grey eyes.

We moves in sync to the music. It was just us in the nature. Our eyes were only on eachother. I felt relaxed for the first time in a long while. Stephen moved his lips to the song. I smiled shyly. It felt like the first time we saw eachother. That adrenaline which flew through my body.

His hands moved up to my cheeks cupping. "You're so beautiful." He whispered before leaning down for a kiss. I instantly melted. I wrapped my arms around his torso as he deepened the kiss. The way his lips felt against mine. Rough yet soft as a feather. I felt a tear slip down as I felt really happy.

Stephen pulled away whipping away the tears. "I love you." He said placing a gentle kiss on my cheek. "I love you too." He let go completely. "If you really do can I ask a favour?" I nodded. "Go ahead." He smiled.

"When I first met you I knew you were something that I wouldn't be able to let go that fast. We've been through happiness and pain. Pain that I caused. I regret everything I did. But you know now that we stand here it was definitely worth it. When I think about you, I know that no one else will ever hold my heart the way you do. My heart was a desert until you came and watered it with your love. Let's spend the rest of our lives together pulling the weeds and enjoying the blossoms."

He went down on his knees. Omg is this really happening. Again tears started streaming down. Oh god. "You deserve the very best, someone who will back you up without limits, let you grow without borders, and love you without end. Will you let me be the one?"

He took out a velvet box and opened it revealing a beautiful diamond ring. "Yes. Yes and a hundred times yes." He smiled sliding the ring on my finger. He smiled widely a few tears coming out of his eyes. Before I knew he was kissing me. Our tears flowing together as we both almost exploded of happiness.

Stephen's pov.

I held her closely to me. I still couldn't believe I finally had the courage to take this big step. I always wanted to marry her but never had the guts to ask. And after of all I couldn't believe she said yes. After all the things I put her through.

6 months of relationship and 4 years of distance. But everything happened for a reason. If we hadn't been apart all these precious mistakes wouldn't have happend. Me getting her pregnant while we were in a relationship. Now we have our beautiful sky.

All thanks to the whole war of our love. And because Rose was a fighter. She fought through he worst times of her life. And I was guilty that I couldn't be by her side. But now everything has fallen into its place. We were happier then ever. Now we can be a happy family.

My Rose and Skyler. "I love you Stephen." Rose said looking up at me in pure happiness. Her eyes filled with tears of joy. She whipped away the tears in my eyes. I'm not the man to cry but this woman has made me cry more than once.

But every drop of tear was worth it. She was worth. "I love you more my soon to be wife." I loved the sound of it. Mr. and Mrs. James. Perfect. "Let's get out of here." She pulled me by my hand rushing out of here. "Am I getting something?" I asked teasing her. "You sure are James." She chuckled.
