I was riding in a truck with our team, as we were on our ways to one of Hydra's factories. I noticed Dum Dum looking at me with a strange look. I can't tell if it's because of my uniform or the fact that I'm a woman, fighting in a war. "Is there something wrong, Dum Dum?" I asked him.

"Nope, no problem at all," He told me. I raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Are you sure, that's all?" I asked him. He straighten his posture.

"Well, I can't understand why you're fighting in the war. It's not like a woman to do so," he said. I smiled slightly. Usually I may take offense to that, but not this time. It's not like he's insulting me, like others would.

"Well, I love my country. What more help could I be than to help keep America safe, huh? And with this new title, I have something to stand up for," I told him.

"Do you actually enjoy that title?" Bucky asked me. I thought about it.

"Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I feel like a hero sometimes and other times I feel like a showgirl. Luckily, I'm not out there, prancing around in a short skirt, singing 'Star Spangle Man With A Plan'." Bucky smirked slightly.

"Wouldn't mind seeing that," he quietly said. I chuckled.

"If you were anyone else, and I heard you say that, I would have you on the ground right now," I said half jokingly. Bucky chuckled nervously. The truck came to a stop, and I could hear Steve's motorcycle in the distance, realizing that he was near. "It's time, boys," I said as I filled my guns with ammo. I heard an explosion and we all hopped out the truck and saw the gates of the factory blown away. We rushed in, shooting our guns at the Hydra soldiers.

I made it to Steve, as he got off his motorcycle. I couldn't help but admire the his suit that Howard upgraded. It was practically the same as before, but the material was better at protecting him than the cloth he had before. The same with my suit. We're both better prepared for war. Steve put his shield on his back, and I couldn't help but smile at the bullet shots. He couldn't exactly hide those.

"We should hurry if we plan to be done before dark." I told him. He nodded his head and we joined our team. We burst into a warehouse, blazing guns as we went through. After a while, I decided to get physical with a few men. I still couldn't get over the strength I had. I could try to gently hit a man and still send him flying across a room. My kicks; however, were far more powerful.

I was in the middle of wrestling with one Hydra soldier. He could somehow withstand some of my hits, which was quite surprising to me. He took out a knife and charged at me. I managed to grab his hand and I tried to stop him, but he was set on stabbing me. I guess it may be from the amount of fighting I was doing, but I didn't have as much strength as usual.

As the man was about to jab the knife into me, I heard a yell coming behind me, and before I could do anything, I heard Steve's shield hit a man and Steve came to the rescue and sent the man flying across the room. Steve looked at me. "Are you alright?" He asked as he examined me.

"I'm fine," I coldly answered. I still was upset about the incident some days ago and judging from how I'm feeling, I won't let it go anytime soon. I rushed to some other Hydra soldiers and I fought them. Occasionally, I would glance over to Steve and he would be hitting men with his shield.

After an hour or so, we managed to kill enough soldiers and we knew it was time to leave. Jacques planted some bombs inside the building and we all rushed out. I was going to ride with the team, but the truck had already left so I was stuck with Steve. As I got onto his motorcycle, I was a less than thrilled.

"Did I do something?" Steve asked as he started the motorcycle.

"No, nothing at all," I told him over the explosion happening behind us. It was true. He hasn't done anything...and that's what making me feel this way.

We've been doing this for quite some time now. Finding Hydra factories and destroying them. It's practically as simple as tieing one's shoe. We were walking through the woods, on high alert. I was walking behind Steve, as he came to a sudden stop. "What is it?" I asked him. He turned slightly.

"Duck," he directed as he threw his shield. I quickly ducked and turned to see a Hydra soldier fall out of the tree and to the ground. We then heard an explosion and more soldiers started coming out. We shot them and made a run for the factory. We gunned the men as we ran, dodging a few explosions on the way.

I happened to see a man come from the trees and I ran straight for him and I jumped, then kicked him in the chest, sending him straight to the ground. I quickly got up and continued running again. Steve was shooting and throwing his shield at the men. "

You know, Captain, I expected you to be a little more hands on," I commented.

He ran up to someone, and charged at them, shield first. "Better?" He asked me. I shook my head.

"Not at all." I said as I came up to a man and punched him. Steve slightly smiled then went back to focus on getting to the factory. After what seemed like a lifetime of running, we made it to the factory. We managed to kill everyone and we destroyed the factory as well. I was looking around as I stood beside Steve. I tried to keep my mind on the mission, but it was difficult with Steve around. My heart races when he's around, but my mind tells me to be mad at him.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked me. I shook my head.

"Perfectly fine." I lied.

"You've been acting different, for a while. There's obviously something." He said. I looked at him.

"There's nothing, Steve. I just want to get this mission over with." I snapped. I didn't want to snap at him, nor do I want to continue feeling this way. My feelings are a mess at this point and being around him only makes them crazier. I tried to walk away, but Steve grabbed my arm.

"Look, Danielle...if you're still mad about what happened that day-" I cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

"I'm not worried about what happened, Steve. I just...want to get this over with, okay?" I told him. He was about to say something, when we heard a gun fire, and a dead Hydra soldier fell down near us. The two of us looked up, to see Bucky re-loading his rifle. I smiled, and waved to Bucky as Steve gave him a small salute. I looked back at Steve.

"Let's go. There's nothing left here". I told him. I took my arm from his grasp and walked away.
