"How many of you are ready to help us sock ol' Adolf on the jaw?" Steve said into the mic. There was silence from the crowd. Steve and I have been dragged around the United States, trying to help sell bonds. Now, we're on a tour in Italy, and we're visiting the troops stationed here. They're not very excited to see Captain America and American Dream.

"Okay, we need a volunteer." I said into the mic.

"We already volunteered, how do you think I got here?" One soldier shouted. The crowd started laughing.

"Bring back the girls!" Another solder shouted. "Better yet, do a little dance, American Dream!" The soldier shouted. The crowd cheered. I looked at Steve, slightly worried.

"I think they only know the one song. But, um...let me...I'll see what I can do,"Steve said into the mic.

"You do that, sweetheart," a soldier taunted.

"Nice boots, Tinkerbell," another soldier said. The crowd then began to laugh.

"Come on, guys. We're all on the same team here," I told them.

"Hey Captain and American Dream!" A soldier stood up, with his back towards us. "Sign this!" He then pulled his pants down, and Steve quickly covered my eyes with his hand. Then, I heard the crowd start to cheer, and I heard something hitting Steve's shield. When he moved his hand, I saw him blocking tomatoes that were being thrown at us. Steve guided me off the stage, and the show girls walked on the stage to keep the soldiers occupied.

"They'll warm up to you two, don't worry," our manager told us. Yeah right. The only people who like us are little children and a few adults. But, most are women who swoon over Steve's physical appearance. They only like him for his body, and I can't help but be angered by that. I mean, I've worked with Steve for over half a year now, and I've known him before he was injected with the serum. I've gotten to know the real Steve Rogers and not Captain America, the man everyone knows and loves. And to make it worse, it seems as if he enjoys the attention he's gotten from women. The way they've put their freshly polished nails on him, swooning over him for his body...it just angers me.

Steve and I were sitting near the stairs, behind the stage. It's been an hour since the show ended, and we still had some time to ourselves before we left for a ceremony with the Senate. I noticed Steve drawing something, and I couldn't help but be curious. "What are you drawing?' I asked as I sat beside him. I looked at the picture, and realized it was a  picture of two monkeys. One holding a shield, sitting on a unicycle, and another juggling balls while riding on a unicycle. Both were wearing costumes similar to ours.

"Is that monkey supposed to be me?" I asked as I pointed to the monkey that was juggling.

"Are you insulted by it?" He asked. I smiled and shook my head.

"It's just, why am I so huge? Am I really that big?" I laughed. He chuckled lightly and shook his head.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Besides, they're monkeys. I can't exactly portray you correctly as a monkey."

"Maybe, you should use something other than a monkey. Say...a dog?" I suggested. Steve gave me a look, and then I quickly shook my head. "I think the monkey seems better." He nodded his head, and went back to drawing. I looked at the rain, and I felt somewhat at peace. I'm one of few people, who actually enjoy rain...It calms me.

I glanced at Steve, and I couldn't help but smile. I've known him for quite some time, and I must admit...he makes me feel special. He doesn't treat me any differently, just because I'm a woman. He's always looked out for me, when I needed him. He's very nice to me, and he makes me feel loved. I've never had this feeling about any man I've ever met. I rested my head on his shoulder, and continued looking at the rain. I felt Steve's arm tense up slightly, but he didn't open his mouth.

Maybe...just maybe, I've fallen for Steve. I've heard stories from my mother of how she fell in love with my father, and she went through these similar feelings. She loved the way he protected her, the way he treated her, with kindness and love, and she loved his sense of humor. Many never understood his jokes, but she did. Before leaving for the army, my mother told me that I'd know when I find love...and, I think I did...with Steve.
