Chapter 10

I woke up in cold sweat.

I looked around to find myself in a room with dark purple walls and a fuzzy carpet, I sighed in relief I was back in my room. It was just a dream, I’m still alive. Why did I even have that dream? What did it even mean? And who was that magnificent black wolf? I sighed as I rose from my bed.

I needed to get ready for my trip; apparently Trevor and I are going to check on Pieter’s pack, they’re having hunter problems in there. I didn’t understand why they were sending me. They had better people to do the job, didn’t they?

I really didn’t want to go, I wanted to stay and try my new powers out, and I wanted to graduate here with Liz not at some random school with people I don’t even know!

                “Hey Addie we’re leaving in ten minutes, are you even awake?” Trevor’s annoying voice yelled, was he’s job waking me up?

                “Yeah I’m awake.”  My brother’s head popped in checking I was awake.

                “Good, I really thought I needed to dump you in the pool to wake you up.” He gave me a hard stare I could feel he’s eyes looking right though me, he knew me too well. “Addie are you okay?”

                “Yeah I’m fine.” I could tell he could see right through that lie.

                “Adina I know when something is bothering you.”  Why do I have to have such knowing brothers? Why can’t I have clueless brothers?

                “It’s nothing I just don’t want to go.” I wasn’t lying; it was part of the truth.

                “Adina, what really happened?” I sighed in defeat might as well tell the truth.

                I just had a bad dream.”

                “What kind of dream?”

                “It’s nothing Trev…. I just had a dream of a black wolf attacking me; it was a stupid dream that’s all.” Trevor tensed up, he looked furious. “What’s wrong?”

                “Nothing Addie, just get dressed we’re leaving soon.” I could tell he was lying, I could hear the pure rage in he’s voice, what did I say to get him so angry? Before I could ask he wasn’t in my room anymore.

Ugh, Brothers.

I took a long shower to clear my thoughts, the hot water was calming. I would have spent longer in the shower but I remembered that we were on a tight on time. I quickly changed into a pair of sweats and one of Gabe’s oversized hoodies, if I’m going to be in a car all day I might as well be comfortable.

                “That Bastard Hurt My Sister! No way in hell am I going to let her go to another pack just to be attacked by your Alpha!” I jumped back a little at Trevor’s rage, seriously what did I do to get him like this?

“Dude calm down, he is not going to hurt her for God sake. He almost killed me for not knowing what her favorite color. It must have been another wolf, or maybe just a bad dream. Plus Daniel will protect with he’s life.” Pieter’s calm voice tried to tame my brother’s rage.

                “The hell he is, I swear if anything happens to her I will crazy murder you and him.” Really what happened to my goofy, care free brother?

I silently jogged downstairs trying to get a better view of the situation; Trevor was trembling violently, looking like he was about to lung for Pieter.  Pieter was about to answer him but he saw me, a worried expression crossed he’s face, but was quickly replaced by a ‘whatever’ face.

                “Good morning Adina, did you have a nice sleep?” Pieter and he’s politeness, I glanced at Trevor he still had a murderous look on he’s face.

                “Yeah…shouldn’t we be leaving, we’ve got a long journey in front of us.” I nervously stated trying to get Pieter away from Trevor before Trevor tries to kill him.

                “Umm…Yeah, let’s go.” Trevor muttered. I headed to the car my, head down; I really didn’t want to go.

                “Aww Addie, cheer up, you’ll see us again. I promise.” I turned to see all my friends, a smile slowly formed on my face, they came to say good bye. I jumped into their arms, they happily accepted the hug.

                “I’m going to miss you guys.” I muttered into their arms.

                “Don’t worry we’ll see you again.” Nick calm voice soothed my sadness.

                “I’m going to miss you Adds.” Lizzy’s hysteric voice cried out. I hugged her as tight and let her cry on my shoulder.

                “I’ll see you again. I mean I’m just checking up on them, right?” Every on stiffened, but they relaxed hoping I didn’t see that, but I did. What is up with them and secrets?
