Heartfilia's Premises

Chapter 12

I was in the middle of preparing myself when the speaker above my head board suddenly rang.

"Aleighna, are you up?" bungad sa akin ni Miss Gryzel at kaagad ko naman itong sinagot, "Miss Nevara and Mister Fuentes are currently waiting for you here."

Hindi na ako nag-abala pang magtanong kung bakit dahil alam ko na naman ang dahilan nila. Humingi lang ako ng ilang segundo kay Miss Gryzel at inayos ko na ang mga gamit ko. Last night I received a blue card from Nazaire dahil nga sa inabot ako ng curfew sa labas ng dorm.

Muli kong nilingon ang bed side table at nakita roon ang blue card. Kinuha ko ito at ipinasok sa aking bag. It was just pass seven in the morning and my class is still on nine. Now, it's a great way to start the day.

Kaagad na bumungad sa akin sina Chastity at Joseph sa reception. Wala ni isa sa amin ang nagsasalita habang sinusundan ko sila sa paglalakad.

"When will you learn to follow Heartfilia's rule, Aleighna?" pagbasag ni Chastity sa katahimikan and I did not expect that from her. I mean, I did not expect that she would be the one to break the silence among the three of us.

Napansin kong patungo kami sa Don Lennar Heartfilia Building. Nang makarating kami roon ay kaagad naming tinahak ang glass door papasok sa SAS Office.

"Good morning, Leigh!" masiglang bati nina Axel at Justine habang si Nazaire ay hindi man lang ako tinapunan ng tingin. Well, what do I expect?

Dumiretso na sa mga table nila sina Chastity at Joseph, at sa tingin ko ay napansin ni Axel ang hindi ko pag-alis ng tingin kay Nazaire.

"Leigh, three hours of community service. We will take your one hour right now and you will start here," ani Axel na ngayon ay nakatayo na sa aking harapan, blocking Nazaire's view.

What!?

"You have to arrange those papers," aniya at napaawang ang aking bibig sa kanyang itinuro, "chronologically."

Wow? Is he even serious? Sobrang dami ng papers sa table and I don't think na kaya kong tapusin ang mga iyon sa loob ng isang oras.

"Now Leigh, maupo ka muna and give Nazaire some minutes to finish reviewing the validity of the summary of the papers," Axel stated and gestured me to the chair in front of the table where the papers are placed.

"He's reviewing the summary of these?" mahinang tanong ko sa kanya habang tinatahak ang daan patungo sa table, "Look, Axe. Sobrang dami nito. How can he finish it before my class starts?"

"Do not worry about being late, Leigh. He has already been here four hours ago. Sige na. Kailangan ko rin reviewhin ang student complaints," paalam niya and he just left my jaw hanging!

Nazaire has been here for around 3 o'clock in the morning!? I wonder kung natutulog pa ba ang lalaking ito. Pinasadahan ko ng tingin ang mga papel na nasa taas ng lamesa at kung pagpapatong-patungin yata ang mga ito makakalahati na nito ang tangkad ko. Ugh! I should have went straight to my dorm last night after Louise left me!

"Remove the papers that contain the topics that I crossed out. Based their order on the number that I put at the left side," he said while pointing to the papers and that was when I saw his wounded fist.

"And if you can't finish that this morning, you can leave them here and just go back at 6:00," he added.

Nazaire left me with the papers at sa halip na gawin na ito ay sinundan ko na lamang siya ng tingin. He entered another glass room and I guess that it was what Joseph was telling me about during my first day here, Nazaire's office.

"For sure hindi mo matatapos yan kung susundan mo lang ng tingin si Nazaire," ilang beses akong napakisap ng aking mata nang marinig ang boses na iyon ni Chastity at kaagad ko na lamang na sinimulan ang dapat kong gawin.
