"Syklar." I whispered, shaking her. "Wake up."
She rolled over. "Is it time already?"
"The kitchen's on fire." I said.
She sniffed. "Good grief."
She got up, running down to the kitchen. "Where's Dad?"
Skylar flew backwards are the was blasted by a strong stream of fire extinguisher.
"Sorry Sky." My Dad whisper-yelled.
It's a wonder she hasn't woken up.
"I'm ok." She said, wiping her night gown. "We gotta hurry and get this cleaned up."
"Ok." Dad said. "You two hurry and get this clean. I'm gonna run and get breakfast from the diner."
Skylar and I nodded and jumped into action.
While Dad grabbed his car keys and ran out the door, Skylar and I worked fast to make the kitchen shine.
We had just finished setting up everything when Mom walked into the kitchen.
"Happy Mother's Day." We said in unison.
She smiled happily. "What's all this?"
"This is your breakfast." I said.
She sat at the table and Dad sat the tray in front of her.
There was a Chocolate milkshake, two pancakes and a small bowl of grits.
"Thank you." She said, kissing all three of us. "You didn't have to go out though. I would've loved strawberry pancakes."
Skylar's jaw dropped. "How did you know? Did we wake you up."
"Of course not." Mom smiled. "But I'm a Mom. We have that superpower."
Skylar and I looked at each other.
"Now." Mom said. "Who wants to help me eat all this?"

"Ok wake her up now." I sat down at my desk.
The brightness of the computer screen hurt my eyes but I paid attention as my Mom opened her eyes.
"Good Morning Lillian." My father said.
"Where are we?" She said, looking around frantically.
"Ask him." My father pointed at the computer screen.
"Hi Mom." I smiled.
"Everett?" She ran up to the screen. "Where are we?"
"Somewhere in Hawaii." I said. "I didn't really pay attention to the tickets when I bought em."
"You bought tickets to Hawaii? For me?" She asked.
"Happy Mother's Day." I said. "From all of us."
Tears sprang to her eyes and she cursed. "I wish I wasn't so far away. I want hugs and kisses!"
"It's Ok Mom." I said. "I'll be here when you get back in four days."
"Four days?" She asked. "Oh how I promise I'll pay back every penny."
"No need. This is your payback for sending me to college." I said.
A hand was placed on my shoulder and I looked up at my sisters.
"And me." Gwendolyn said. "Happy Mom's Day."
"You and Lavender too?" She wiped her tears. "I love you all so much."
"Mom, we gotta go but enjoy yourself." I said.
"Alright babies." She said, smiling peacefully.
