Your POV

Life in the glade was fun I guess, although I was the only girl which made things harder, especially when your in a glade filled with around fifty boys.

And out of the fifty I had 3 of them after me, hormonal bastards but nevertheless

And all three of them were my closest friends.

You had Minho who was friendly and funny but bragged a lot about his hair. And just his hair.

Thomas was great but I think he's trying to decide who he likes more, me or Teresa, which makes him sound like a player but he's just trying to understand if he knew her before the maze like he thinks he does

And then Newt who puts me before himself and isn't constantly flirting with me but he's a little overprotective at times

It was lunch time and we were all sat together including Chuck and Teresa, and Minho was complaining yet again about his hair

"The box needs to come up asap, a man needs his hair gel" he said

"And how would that man felt if I shaved all his bloody hair off" Newt said

Minho gave a fake 'hurt' look before grinning "ok look I know I talk about my hair a lot but it's nice to be in control of something considering we've had our lives taken away"

"Find something else to take control of then" Thomas said

Minho looked at me before turning to Thomas "ok then"

We all finished our food and all went back to work, well apart from Thomas and Minho as it was their day off

Me and Teresa both worked in the garden along with Newt and Chuck would often sit with us

"Hey Teresa can I talk to you quickly?!" Thomas yelled from half way across the glade

She nodded to him before rolling her eyes to me and went over to him

"Why is Minho running all around the place? I thought it was his day off" Chuck said

Me and Newt both looked at Minho, he was sure enough running around but he kept looking our way, well more specifically at me

I shrugged and went back to wrapping vines on the wooden pole
"Probably just showing off" I said

"Why?" Chuck asked

"Because he's a shank" Newt said clenching his jaw before turning back to what he was doing

Chuck smirked at me and I quickly looked away knowing what he was trying to say.

"I'll be back in a minute" Newt said before walking off towards the forest

"He is so jealous" Chuck remarked

"Leave him alone Chuck" I smiled

"(y/n) you have three boys after you, what are you going to do about it?" He asked

"Two actually I think Thomas wants Teresa now" I replied

"Not the point" he said

"Well I don't know, I like them both just not sure who I like more" I sighed

"Well yeah Minho is fun and friendly but from what I've seen you're happier with Newt" he said

"Well I feel more comfortable with Newt because he's not trying to impress me like Minho is and like Thomas used to, he would just be my friend" I said

"Well there we go then" he said

Then it clicked yeah Minho and Thomas liked me but Minho just showed off and Thomas eventually went with Teresa. None of them liked me like Newt and he didn't do anything, he was just there for me, and that says more than a guy trying to impress you.

"You knew all along didn't you?" I asked

He nodded "like I said you're more happier with him, now go find him I'll cover for you both if Alby asks"

I smiled and hugged Chuck "thank you!!"

I ran off towards the forest and went on my hunt for Newt

I eventually found him sat by the stream throwing stones in it, I went and sat next to him, he glanced over at me and looked back at the stream

"You were gone longer than a minute so I thought I'd come check up on you" I said

"Sorry I just wanted a break from everything" he said

"You don't need to apologize, so to help with everything that you said you needed a break from I'm going to tell Minho that I'm not interested in him because I'm not going to lie I'm getting a bit fed up with him constantlty trying to impress me" I said

"I thought you liked Minho" he said looking at me

"I do like him, as a friend but nothing more" I replied

"You'll break his heart and give him something else to complain about" he smiled

I laughed "oh god maybe it's best not to say anything then"

"Look (y/n) I know I'm not like the other boys trying to get your attention all the time but it's just frustrating seeing them all like that" he said

"I know you're different and that's why I like you more than the rest, I'm happier and comfortable with you, with the others it's just a game to them" I said

He smiled "so have you made a decision then?"

I looked at him and kissed him, our lips moved in sync for a few moments before I pulled away smiling

"Yeah I did"
