Sequel to "WICKED games" and based off the Scorch Trials movie. (Y/N) and the other Gladers escaped the Maze, learned of the organisation WICKED and their hunt for a cure to the Flare, a virus that attacks the brain, turning humans into Zombie-like Cranks. They were rescued by another organisation, headed by A.D. Janson who promises safety in exchange for cooperation. But (Y/N) doesn't trust him, and after a mysterious reference to her mother, she does some investigating on her own.

A year before Teresa arrived in the Maze, a girl was sent there as punishment. As lost as any other Greenie, Tobi begins to find her place among the other Gladers. Little does she know, her past plays a bigger role in the world than she could have possibly expected. This past helps her in her cause: to track Grievers.

Her head feels empty, she doesn't remember how can she get into the cage. Suddenly the cage moved, she grab her chest and grabbed a locket. She tried to open the locket but suddenly a light came from the upper cage. The cage stopped and a boy opened the cage, "It's a girl." Jessa was a normal girl, she had a family that cared for her and loved her unconditionally. But when the world went to hell, WCKD with the pleas from her uncle saved her. But not her family. The only way they knew how to truly keep her from harm was for her to be trapped in a maze, but she wasn't like the others. She was the only girl in a maze filled with boys. She had memories, memories that gave her hints of the past she once had. She didn't feel like she belonged until she met Minho.

May thought that the maze was the end but how wrong was she and will she survive the scorch?
