being in the Maze all day every day, time can go slowly but then next thing you know a month has gone by.

there are a few days that stick out, the usual, easter, christmas etc but this year there was one day Newt was really looking forward to.

Valentine's Day.

it was the first valentine you were spending with eachother and the plan was it was going to be special. however you didn't think it was that much of a deal. well what is there to do when you're stuck in a maze, you can't dress up, you can't get gifts. to you it was just another day.

you woke up to find your boyfriend missing from your shared hut. that was until he kicked the door open with a tray filled with food with a massive smile on his face

"good you're awake!! i was worried i would have to wake you then suffer the consequences" he smiled

"consequences of waking me up? i'm not that bad" you say rolling your eyes with a little smile

"uh sorry what happened the other morning?" he asked putting the tray on the bedside table

you opened your mouth to respond but paused as you remembered that you had chucked a book at him when he had woke you up fairly early so you shrugged "you deserved it" you mumble earning a 'i told you so' look

you look at the food beside you and send him a questioning look "what's the occasion?"

"do you not know what day it is?" he asked

"um... sunday?" you ask still trying to wake up

"ok i am hurt you've forgotten" he says putting on a 'i'm hurt' voice

"leave me alone i'm not awake yet" you smile

"well sleepyhead it's Valentine's Day!!!" he smiles

"oh god i forgot about that" you say

"i know there's not much we can do but it's our first one together so i figured we deserved a different breakfast" he explains passing you a plate of pancakes that was covered in syrup and strawberries that made a heart

"since when did you cook?" you ask with a smile

"yeah i'm great at you know... decorating" Newt says sitting next to you

you laugh "Fry?"

"Fry" he confirmed with a grin

after breakfast you both spent the morning just talking. not about being in the maze or how you could possibly be trapped in here for the rest of you lives but just about dreams.

you found it refreshing how just for a moment you could both be normal and just not worry about what was going on in your lives.

"thank you for this" you say with a small smile

he pulled you into a hug and stroked your hair
"you don't need to thank me love, all i did was give you breakfast, it was nothing compared to what you'll get when we get out of here"

"oh yeah?" you smile

"yeah there's going to be all our favourite foods, and tonnes of balloons that will fill the ceiling, banners, glitter, flowers, the biggest dinner we would have ever seen and we'll watch some cheesy movie and then we'll fall asleep in front of the fire"

"sounds like the perfect day" you say softly as you imagine what i would have looked like

"and i'll do anything to made sure we get out of here and you get it" he says into my hair

"i love you Newt" you smile up at him

he placed a soft kiss on your lips and smiles as he strokes your cheek and stares into your eyes
"i love you too. happy valentine's day my love"

it's a short one but i couldn't resist to do a liccle one for Valentine's!!

i've had a bit of a writers block lately but hopefully i'll crack out of that soon ahah!
