"Don't say it, Phoenix." I demanded as I flat ironed my hair.

"I told you so! I knew it!" She exclaimed.

I roll my eyes as I finish my last part of my hair. I put on a white bodycon dress with white pumps to go with it.

"Alex! You look so good!" Harlow said with her mouth full of ramen noodles.

"She's right, Alex. Jonathan is not going to be able to behave around you." Phoenix chimed in from my closet she's currently raiding.

"Thank you. Where's Mer? Wasn't she supposed to come over too?" I asked.

"Oh. Jackson and Mer are on a date right now." Harlow responded after she finished her noodles.

I turned to the mirror to make sure I looked good. I straightened out my dress with shaky hands.

"Alex, are you nervous?" Phoenix appeared next to me in the mirror.

"No, I'm good." I offered her a small smile.

I was nervous. I didn't want my heart broken again. This is my first date after Brian and I had broken up. I just don't want to lose myself again.

The doorbell rang and snapped me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my phone and purse and headed down the stairs with Phoenix and Harlow. I open the door to Jonathan wearing light colored jeans with a navy sweater.

"You clean up nice." Jonathan said rubbing his chin.

I smiled. "Whatever."

"Have fun you rascals." Phoenix said from the kitchen.

Jonathan laughed and headed towards his car. He rushed to my side and open the car door for me. "Milady." He smiled.

"Thank u kind sir." I giggled. I slid into the passenger seat with my hands becoming less shaky. "So where are we going?" I ask looking over at him fixing his hair.

"It's a surprise." He sang as we pulled out the drive way.

"I don't really like surprises."

He started to laugh at my comment. "Surprises are fun. How can u not like them?"

"Just don't." I shrugged. I get scared by surprises and I always turn out to hate them. But I can't tell him that.

We sat in silence and listen to the radio playing Billie Eilish. Even though we sat in silence for the rest of the ride, it wasn't uncomfortable.

We finally got to the restaurant and I was in awe. It was decorated with string lights hanging from the ceiling. Almost had an indie vibe to the place. It had black and white pictures hung on the walls. It was simple but beautiful.

Jonathan started to examine my face for approval. "Do you like it? I didn't know if you wanted to go big or-"

"I love it." I grabbed his hand and walked into the restaurant.

The waitress greeted us and sat us in a black booth with a small candle sitting on the table.

"Welcome to Silver Docks. What can I get you tonight?" The waitressed asked batting her eyes at Jonathan. The waitress had red hair with freckles that were sprinkled on the top of her nose. She was short but still looked like she was in her late 20s.

"I'll have a water and Alex will have one as well." Jonathan said confidently.

"Anything for you sir." The waitress said with excitement.

"Actually, I would like a lemonade." I said to the waitress.

The waitress finally broke eye contact with Jonathan and looked at me with disgust. "Whatever." She turns back to Jonathan and starts small talk. Jonathan obviously didn't take the hint that she was being flirty.

"So I think we are ready for our drinks ma'am." I demanded with a smile.

She turns to me and rolls her eyes. She finally walks away from the table. I couldn't help but scoff at the tom foolery.

"Don't you think you were kind of being mean?" Jonathan asked raising an eyebrow at me.

"Are you serious? She was flirting with you!" I argued. I can't believe he's this oblivious.

"Or someone is just jealous and paranoid?" He replied as he looked at the menu.

"You're unbelievable." I huff as I continue to scan the menu for something I liked.

"I'm kidding." He laughed as he grabbed my hand. "I'm only here with you, no one else."

I slightly shake my head at how cheesy his comment sounded but I couldn't help to blush.

We finally find something on the menu and order.

"I can't believe you actually did that." Jonathan said as he started the car. He pulled out of the parking spot and turned onto the main road.

"What? She was asking you on a date." I stated with a smile.

"It wasn't like I was gonna say yes. Even though you're a Auburn fan, I only want you." He remarked with a smirk.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Auburn is better than Alabama. You can fight me on this any day of the week."

"You're just blind to Alabama's greatness." He scoffed. We both started to laugh as he turn in to my red brick driveway. That's when we stopped laughing.

"Why is Micah's car in your driveway?"
