he watched as you struggled to move, your body trying to force its self to wake up. he didn't know what to do, scared that you were maybe dying in your sleep. your fingers twitched as your eyes opened, quickly closing and going back to sleep. the same thing happened before your legs twitched waking you up once again. "y/n, y/n, y/n," ethan said before you could close your eyes again.

you furrowed your eyebrows, "what's wrong? did you get any sleep?" you asked noticing something was wrong with him.

he shook his head, "what was happening in your sleep? you were struggling," he said and you sighed. you knew you were going to have to explain this but you were scared he was going to think you were crazy and not understand it.

"so for years i've had this thing called sleep paralysis," you said getting the point. he nodded his head, his eyebrows furrowed, "it's when my mind is awake but my body is asleep. so like if your mind told you to move your hand but you didn't, that's kind of what it is. it's terrible because you know you're awake but you can't move," you said and his features softened.

"what happens?" he asked and you sighed.

"it's different for everyone. some people can't breathe, some envision demons. i just end up dreaming the same dream i've always dreamed. it's nothing scary really, but it can be depending on how deep i look into it," you explained.

"does it happen often?"

you shifted so you could sit comfortably, "it happens when i'm not that tired but i force myself to sleep. i always have to listen to music or something or else i get it. sometimes when i wake up and go right back to sleep, that's when i continue to have it" you said and he nodded. "but it's nothing to worry about, okay?" you said noticing that he was worried.

he nodded as you scooted closer to him, pulling him into a kiss. "should we get some sleep? i'll turn the tv on," he said and you smiled, nodding your head.
