Wrong Place, Right Time

>Your PoV<

I couldn't help but glare, I- we weren't asking for his help, we don't need to be looked down upon, "We are fine. Thank you anyway."

He sighed, "I-I really didn't want to make it seem like I was looking down on you", he said, looking down, "I honestly really admire you, so I want the best for you and the ones you love."

Finally, I looked him in the eye, and to my disbelief, he was being honest, "Just hear me out- please?"

His earnestness made my heart rate pick up, just like that time before, never had I met someone so kind. I inadvertently smiled, nodding slightly, watching as he did the same.

Scooting closer, he put his hand on mine, "Thank you", he said, smiling gently, "My offer was-" he began, pausing.

He reflected a while, "There isn't really an easy way to lead up to this, but I want you to become my bodyguard."

What?

I was taken aback, to say the least, "A bodyguard? Why? You already have those- and I already have a place here with the gang- they're family-"

"I know- but this way you can get money to support them- you can start a foundation for them and the guys and I will help directly", he said, "Besides, you want to keep them safe from where they come from, but bringing them into a gang isn't entirely helping... if you do, then I can do my best to support you, her, and all of them."

I licked my lips, he puts up a good argument.

Nodding, I sighed, "Okay- I'll think about it", I said, making him practically beam with enthusiasm, "But I need to make sure it's all good with the rest of them, I can't just make these decisions on my own."

He smiled, taking my hand again, "I completely understand- I'm so glad you are considering it."

I smiled back, then noticing it was already dark out, I looked back at her, seeing she was still sound asleep, "Do you want to stay the night? It's already late."

He looked shocked, "Oh- I would love to, but the guys might get worried, they probably are anyway- I told them I was gonna go buy some milk."

I couldn't help but laugh a bit, "Then I'll walk you to a store, you'll at least come home with what you said you were gonna get."

He smiled, getting up as I did, then looking over my shoulder, "Oh, but what about her? She still hasn't woken up."

I shook my head, "She's a heavy sleeper," I chuckled, "Won't wake up until tomorrow."

He smiled, and I patted his back, leading the way to the door.

"You should do it", she said, sitting on the couch as I ate breakfast, "I heard you guys talking last night, this is your chance."
