Mrs. Richards

"Mrs. Richards..." R whispered as he stood beside M and poked her side while they waited for their cue backstage for their first show in L.A.

M turned to him with a nervous smile, slipped her arms around his waist and leaned her head on his chest. "Alden..." She sighed.

He smiled and hugged her back. "Okay lang yan. Normal yang konting nerbiyos. Kayang-kaya mo yan. Enjoyin mo lang tsaka andito lang ako. Di kita pababayaan. Di ka namin pababayaan nina Kuya Jose, Wally at Pao." R whispered and gently stroked her back.

"I know. Thank you for always being there."

"You're welcome. Always welcome, Mrs. Richards."

M looked up at him and grinned. Their faces merely inches from each other. "Aba. In character na agad ah. Iba ka talaga, Alden Richards."

R's breath hitched and he licked his lips as his eyes unconsciously drifted to her lips so dangerously close to his.

I remember, Maine. I remember when I kissed you when I had a little too much to drink and you walked me to my car. I wanted to. I've been wanting to for long time and I didn't want to stop. Araw-araw kong inaalala, hinanap-hanap, inasam-asam kaya sorry. Sorry coz I was too weak to control my emotions and gave in to the urge to kiss you again after the Coldplay concert. M smiled and her eyes twinkled as she did.

R took a deep breath and was about to speak when he felt a sudden shove on his shoulder making him kiss M. Fortunately or not, she was quick to move her face to the side and his lips landed on her cheek.

"Kuya Jose!" M laughed and broke free from R's embrace. "Yang mga tulak mo talaga."

"Ito kasing si Tisoy kung makatitig pa-tuka na eh. Bakit di na lang kasi kayo magtukaan? Halata namang gustong-gusto niyo na." Jose quipped in his normal voice which was a stark contrast to his Lola Tinidora costume.

R&M both blushed and looked away with a smile.

"Hay naku kayo. Alam ko na yan. Wag niyo akong inaano. Ayusin niyo yan at baka maging malabo pa sa buhok ni Wally ang mangyari sa inyo." He added and two laughed awkwardly.

"Uhm... Kuya Jose, Alden dun pala muna ako ha? Tawag ako ni Ma'am Jenny." M said.

"Tinawag ka ba?" Jose asked.

"Opo." M answered and quickly left.

When M was out of earshot, Jose looked at R and shook his head.

"Bakit po?" R asked.

"Kasi ikaw. Kasing gwapo kita eh kaso sayang yang kakaunting kagwapuhang namana mo sa akin kung magpapaka-torpe ka."

"Ako po? Torpe?"

"Mahal mo di ba?"

R did not answer. He just sighed and looked at M from afar.

"Halata." Jose observed. "Matagal na namin kayong kasama at di maiaalis na obserbahan na din. Parang kayo eh pero sabi niyo hindi kayo. Kung bantayan, alagaan at bakuran mo yang si Meng ganoon na lang kaya bakit di mo pa ligawan?"

"Ayaw ko po kasing maging sagabal sa kanya. Marami pa siyang pwedeng gawin sa career niya. Napaka-talented niya at madami siyang napapasaya." R answered Jose but his eyes were glued on M as she watched her joke around and laugh with Wally and Paolo, making her adorable wacky faces and cute exaggerated gestures. "Iba kasi akong pumasok sa relasyon, Kuya Jose. Seryosohan. Bigay todo minsan strikto, madalas seloso, may panahong nakakasakal. Hindi ko alam kung gugustuhin ni Maine yun. Hindi ko alam kung mamahalin niya ako ng ganoon. Natatakot ako na mapigilan ko siya sa mga gusto niyang gawin at sa huli she will come to hate me. Ayokong mawala siya sa akin. Hindi ko kaya."

"Paano kung dahil diyan sa mga takot mo, lalo siyang mawala sa'yo? Bata pa siya, maganda, mabait, matalino, talented, mayaman at hindi lang ikaw ang gwapong may interes sa kanya. Maswerte ka dahil sa'yo lang siya interesado. Ang tanong: Hanggang kailan? Hanggang kailan bago siya mapagod sa kahihintay na may gawin ka at lumingon sa iba?" Jose said and patted R's shoulder as he walked to the side of the stage where they were called at that moment.

M smiled and  waved at R as she walked towards him so they can go up the stage together.

Her eyes glued on him and his heart set on her.

Hanggang kailan...
Maine, lagi ka lang sanang ganyan. Nakangiti at sa akin lang patungo. Malapit na... Malapit na, Maine. Sabi mo, malapit nang matupad lahat ng gusto mo. Pag nangyari yun, wala nang makakapigil pa sa akin na sabihin sa'yo ang pangarap ko. Ang pangarap kong gawin kang hindi lang Mrs. Richards kundi Mrs. Faulkerson.  Until then, just stay with me because I have nowhere else to go but to a future with you.
