Still Thanksgiving day 9:45pm, 1 hour into labor.
I've been in labor for a whole hour and these contractions are killing me. Austin is still super nervous and so am I but I'm trying to stay a little calm. The nurse has to come in and check me soon to see how far along I am.
"How you holding up?" The nurse asked
"I've been better" I said
"Lets check you" She said "Your about at a 3"
"How far does she have to go?" Austin asked
"To about a 10" she said "Ill come check later"
3 hours into labor 11:58pm
"So let me check you should be moving along" She said "Your about a 7, a couple more hours you should have a baby"
"Oh my god" Austin said
"I know only 3 more until I have to start pushing"
"Don't worry honey everything is gonna be fine I'm gonna be here holding your hand" My dad said
"I know you are but I'm scared"
"I'm scared to Austins scared Michelle is scared Cameron is scared but everything is gonna be fine because you only have to do this once and then your gonna have your baby and everything will be fine" He said
"Cameron is asleep he's a great support" I said
"We'll wake Cameron up when it's time"
Time to push 3:45am
The doctor came in and checked me again and said I was dilated enough to push which made me tense up in fear. I was already tired and I haven't even started pushing yet I haven't slept since last night and it's almost 4am. Michelle and Cameron left the room so it was just Austin my dad and I with the doctors.
They gave me an epidural a little while ago which made my legs numb but I could still feel pressure and it hurt.
"Okay so we're gonna bring the legs up and out" The doctor said
"Dad hold this leg" The nurse said and both of them went for my leg
"I'm sorry Scarlets dad hold this one and dad hold the other one" She said
"Oh my god" I said already feeling the urge to push
"Are you feeling the urge?" The doctor asked
"Yes let's hurry this up I need to push" I said
"Okay scarlet now push down into your bottom 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. Okay deep breath and then again" She said
"Ughhhh! It hurts so much" I groaned
"It's okay baby push" Austin said
"I can't I can't" I cried
"Honey yes you can come on push again" My dad said
"Oh this hurts!!" I screamed
"Another one" The doctor said
"I can't"
"Push baby I see her head" Austin smiled
"Baby has hair, come on another big push and she'll be out" The doctor said
I pushed hard again and then felt a big relief then I heard crying and my heart flutters with happiness. I started to cry out of joy and had the biggest smile on my face. Austin was in shock and had a big smile on his face I saw a tear run down his face before he wiped it away and went over to the nurses to see her face in person.
"And it's a girl time of birth 4:05am" The doctor said
"You did it I knew you could" Austin said
"Did you see her face does she look just like you?" I asked
"I didn't see her the nurses were crowding her and she's crying" He said looking for her again
After they weighed her and cleaned her up they wrapped her in a blanket and put a pink hat on her that hat a bow on it. When they were finally done they handed her to me and I pulled the blanket back to look at her face and she looked just like Austin. She was gorgeous.
"Oh my god babe she looks just like you on she's gorgeous" I said
"Wow babe she's got my nose" He said
"And the whole rest of your face aww" I said
"She's got your ears and your eyebrow shape" He said
"I want you to open those eyes baby I wanna see who's eyes you have" I said "I hope she has your eyes"
"She would be just as gorgeous if she had your brown eyes babe" He said
"Babe you wanna hold her"
"Yea let me see my baby girl" he said holding her
"Oh I need to get a picture of this" I said taking my phone out
"She's so adorable" Austin said kissing her
"She really is" i said
My dad held her next and he fell in love with her. I think all the negative thoughts he had about me being pregnant and Austin getting me pregnant just vanished and he was just loving his granddaughter. Michelle came in after I was all settled from birth and she held her and she also fell in love with her.
The nurses came in later to give Austin and i a quick rundown of parenting. They brought her a bottle because I said I didn't wanna breastfeed maybe I would try it later but I didn't wanna right now. They also showed Austin how to change a diaper because he didn't really have a clue.
"Dad I just thought how are we supposed to go home in a couple days I don't wanna bring Lelia on a plane a few days after she was born" I said
"Your gonna have to stay here with Austin and his aunt while she gets a little older" My dad said
"We don't have anything here for her though theirs no clothes or diapers or anything"
"Were just gonna have to buy some things for the next two weeks and then you'll come home, we didn't plan on her being born 3 weeks early so we're just gonna have to work with what we got"
"I guess so" I said
While I was feeding her she finally opened his eyes and she had the most gorgeous blue eyes like Austins.
"Oh my god Austin come look she opened her eyes and she has the most gorgeous blue eyes just like you" I said
"Oh my god how cute" He said
For the rest of that day the rest of our families came and saw her and I just rested and so did Austin since we didn't get much sleep last night and we're not gonna be getting much sleep anymore.
