Chapter 12 (Part 2)

“Of course I’ll be there in a second” I ended the call and started to walk towards the house. As I reached the back door I took a deep breath, grabbed hold of the door handle and walked through the door leading into an empty kitchen. I walked towards the hallway and saw everyone stood in there whispering. When they saw me they all stopped talking and hung their heads except Jamie who smiled at me.

“I’m gonna go home” I said to all of them.

“Do you want me to drive-” Jake asked until I interrupted him.

“-no I’m fine my mum’s coming and picking me up.”

“Oh... ok” he muttered.

“Anyway... we’re really glad you came to dinner Hayden” Emily said whilst hugging me and smiling at me.

“Ye Hayden we’ve enjoyed getting to know you a little bit better.” Scott said and wrapped his arms around me as if I was some sort of sister to him. I smiled back at him as he pulled away.

“I’ve enjoyed getting to know you guys too”

I heard a knock on the door and saw my mum appear behind it as Alex opened the door. “Hey Cally.” he smiled at her. As I walked towards the door everyone started to hug me until I got to Jamie and Jake who were closest to the door. When I reached Jamie he asked me for my phone and started to put his number in it and told me to ring whenever I needed anyone to talk to which I nodded at and thanked him. I hesitated for a second and then turned to Jake and said goodnight and walked straight towards the door. I didn’t want to hear his answer or look at him. Alex hugged me as I walked towards my mum and said goodnight. My mum said bye to all of them and then we started to walk towards the car. As I climbed in and pulled my seatbelt across me I started to think about tonight. Why did Jake think he could tell me if I could go to the garage or not. He had really frustrated me and now I couldn’t wait for tomorrow. I have maths 2nd, 3rd and a meeting for the stupid maths challenge. Can my life get any better?

Jake’s POV

When I saw her walk out the door I walked straight into the kitchen and grabbed my car keys. I ignored the guys shouting me back and ignored them when they tried to grab hold of me. I clicked the button for my car to unlock whilst walking down the steps. I grabbed the remote for the garage door and opened it. I yanked open the door on my car and literally dove into the driver’s seat. I pushed the key into the ignition and reversed out of the garage and quickly turned once I’d reached the road, making the tyres squeal. My mind started to overload with anger and frustration and I started to drive towards the garage seeing as no one will be there at the moment. Hopefully I’ll be able to let my anger out there.

Jamie’s POV

“I don’t understand why Jake’s so angry he never gets angry” Emily said to Scott. I watched as he shrugged and pretended that he didn’t know why. We all knew Jake very well so we all knew why he was angry. I looked at Blake and saw his eyes were full of worry. He looked back at me and nodded signalling me to go along with exactly what I was thinking. I dug my hand into my jeans pockets and dragged my keys out.

“Guys I’m gonna go” I said to them.

“Ye me too” Blake said and Scott followed. I hugged Emily who looked very worried about her son. “Thanks Ems for dinner it was awesome” I smiled at her.

“Goodnight” she whispered to us all as we started to walk towards the door that led to the garage, after all of us hugged her and said thanks for the meal. I felt so sorry for Emily there was so much that she didn’t know about Jake. I loved Emily as if she was my own mum... I mean she’s better than my birth mum and I know the guys looked up to her as if she was there mum as well. I walked towards my Porsche and jumped in. I waited until Scott had opened the other garage door and the guys had jumped into their cars. We all reversed out separately and drove in a line towards the one place we knew where he would be.
