Chapter 55: Silent but not Broken

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I KNOW I'M A DAY LATE BUT YESTERDAY WAS CHRISTMAS (OBVIOUSLY) AND I HAD A GATHERING. I HAVE A CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR YOU GUYS, YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT BUT IT'S THE SECOND LAST CHAPTER OF THIS BOOK. :D I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR PRESENT!

   (Lucy POV)

   'Ready for this Lucy?' Lyle asked. I nodded. Zeref was only metres in front of us. "Give me your power Lyle." I said. 'As you wish.' I stopped running while Natsu readied to use his new found power. 

   "Fire Dragon King's Roar!" Natsu shot his attack straight at Zeref and the forest trees in the way all turned to ashes, while Zeref laid on the ground. He was burnt to a crisp and wasn't moving. "Did ya see that Luce?! He's down for the count!" Natsu cheered until he saw me on the ground.

   Natsu rushed to my side. "Lucy are you okay?" He asked as he lifted my head, revealing red orbs. "Wha-?" "Don't worry Natsu. I'm fine." I said while it sounded like thousands of voices spoke under mine.

   "This is the state I need to be in to officially kill Zeref because he's immortal, remember?" I said with the other voices mimicking me. I stood up and walked towards Zeref who stood up and glared at me. "I see you've obtained Lyle's powers. do you even know who I made Lyle from?" Zeref smirked.

   "Yes, my mother. I'm okay with that. What you should be worried about is whether you're ready to accept that you're finally going to die." I tilted my head up to make myself look more powerful.

   "Says you Lucy Heartfilia!" Zeref spat. "Death-" I cut him off by grabbing his entire face in my hand, while the other was raised, palm up, to the skies. "Rid this land forever of the evil that has roamed this planet for too long. Hear my pleas keeper of the planet, stars, and the universe, bring peace to this nation once more. By the power of stellar abilities with the aid of demons and fire bring forth the ultimate judgement. God's Wrath!" I chanted.

   A gold beam came from the heavens and engulfed everything within a 10 mile radius. Screaming could be heard in the middle of the pillar of magic. As quickly as it came the beam left, leaving everything as it once was, except for Zeref. Zeref had completely vanished. 

   I looked to Natsu and he looked back at me and we both smiled, until I realized how much magic that spell needed. I fell down too weak to move, then everything went black.

(Natsu POV)

   I watched Lucy sleep. She looked like she was dead but my mom and Wendy made sure she wasn't. They used their magic to make sure Lucy would still get all the nutrients she needed since she didn't have a way of eating in this state.

   Knock Knock.

   "Come in." I said granting entrance for the person behind the door. I turned my head to see it was Pops. "How are you holding up?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders. "I can't help but feel guilty for a lot of what happened back then. Zeref used me as a weapon and I have no idea how he did it." 

   My dad grabbed a chair and placed it beside mine. "I...I do." He said. My head whipped around to face him. "Well spit it out old man!" I exclaimed. "I know I should've told you this before the battle but your mother insisted on leaving to regain our dragon magic."

   "When you were just a newborn you weren't born right, you weren't fully developed yet. So your mother and I agreed to a magic surgery that we were told about by one of Zeref's minions, except we didn't know the guy worked for him. You would've died without this surgery, we were desperate." Pops explained.
