(Lucy POV)

I opened my locker for it to be slammed shut. "Now what?!" I whined loudly. I turned to see a small blue haired girl and scarlet haired beauty. "Lu-chan, what's wrong?" The petite girl asked, while I sighed loudly. "Nothing." I muttered. "Liar!" The scarlet girl shouted. I cocked my head sideways not understanding her outburst. "What do you mean Erza?" Levy asked also confused. "Her and Natsu are having a sing-off later after school. that's when all sing-offs take place, at the stage beside the school." Erza said.

"It's not like I wanted to battle him, he just said we were. I didn't have any say in it." I defended, I put my things away in my locker and closed it. "Well then we need to get you ready!" Levy exclaimed. "Levy's right. I'll go talk to Gramps about excusing you from your classes to prepare for the battle." Erza said walking towards the principals office. ""W-wait guys, will he even allow it?" I asked hoping I could somehow weasel my way out of my current situation. "Oh shush. Of course you're allowed, this is Fairy Tail Arts School, it's encouraged to have competitions to get better." Erza replied matter-of-factly. "Oh yeah Lu-chan I even bet Natsu is practicing right now as well." Levy added. The bluenette grabbed my hand, dragging me to the prep room. "C'mon Lu-chan! Let's go get you ready. Erza you go do your thing. I bet Gramps will be so proud of you." Levy said almost too enthusiastically.

Principal Makarov doesn't like to think of this as a school with random people, he likes to think of us as one big family, which is why he makes us call him Gramps.

Levy and I finally reached the girls prep-room. Girls and boys have separate prep-rooms for obvious reasons. While I was picking which song I should sing, Levy was picking out my outfit. "Levy-chan!" I called out to the bluenette deep in thought about outfits. "I've picked my song, have you picked my outfit yet?" I asked hoping it would be something I liked. "This!" Levy cheered holding up a high-low pastel pink dress, with a light brown leather belt, matching hippie headband, jean jacket and dark leather cowgirl boots. "Levy-chan this is beautiful. I didn't even know they had this kind of stuff here. This is really cute, plus it goes with my song." I said admiring the bookworms fashion sense. "Okay." Levy said clapping her hands together. "You should start practicing, but first." The bluenette handed me the adoring outfit, "Put this on." She finished with a beaming smile. I walked over to the change room and got changed very quickly so that I would have more time to practice. While I was practicing my nerves started to kick in but I decided to push them aside even though it was a struggle.

I've been practicing for 2 hours straight, with breaks of course. The battle was in half an hour and I was thinking about chickening out but Levy and Erza, who showed up of me practicing for 10 minutes said that this could be my big break from being the 'loner loser' to the 'popular princess.' Plus after they said that I promised them I would do it and not back down. Curse my moment of bravery and my oath to never break a promise. "Are you ready Lu-chan?" Levy asked. "Yeah it's just, I'm really nervous." I said nervously. "Oh I was like that too at my first sword fighting battle." Erza said. "You're just over thinking everything. Trust me, when you get on stage your nerves will leave and you will finally be able to show everyone the Lucy we know. The real Lucy Heartfilia and how amazingly talented she is." Erza said putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "Yeah. Okay" I said making my smile wider and true. Levy the squealed and raised her hands in the air. "Then what are we waiting for? We only have 10 minutes left to get her to the stage. Let's go!" Erza and I nodded and ran out of the room and all of us booked it over to the stage.

(Natsu POV)
The sound check people were checking my equipment for the fourth time in 15 minutes, it was getting really annoying. I was kind of getting nervous but nothing I can't easily push aside. I look down at my attire, ripped jeans, a blood red shirt with a dragon on it with a black leather jacket and black converse to complete my look. I looked up and saw my competition had arrived although she looked nothing like the need I saw in my pre-cal class this morning. She was beautiful in her pink dress, cowgirl boots and her belt made her dress compliment her body to perfection. I walked over to her with a smile on my face.
