"What do you think?" Luke asked through FaceTime. He had just gotten his lip pierced and it looked really good.

"I actually really like it." I said,

"What are you doing now?" He asked,

"In my room, literally just lying on my bed and contemplating life choices." I said,

"Like what choices?" He asked.

"Like how my day butt spends all my money on food and not on decent clothing." I said,

He laughed, "I like your cloths!" He said,

"All I wear is hoodies, which is fine but I should at least buy a new one, and maybe a few dresses... I haven't worn a dress in over a year... wait I did when I saw my grandparents last Christmas, my grandma gets really happy when o wear dresses... it's odd." I said.

"My grandparents always question me for wearing black skinny jeans, as if I own anything else? But one time my mum made me where a white button up shirt two years ago and my grandma was so happy." Luke said.

"It's so odd. I don't even think I own real clothes any more." I said, "or makeup, gosh, Alaki's girlfriend bought me a massive set of it last year and his ex before her did the same and I honestly don't even touch it half the time."

"You don't even need it." He said,

"Luke, it's not about needing or not needing it, it's about when you wanna do something pretty for yourself." I said,

"Whatever you say." He said,

"Also, I saw you wore glasses the other day, I didn't know you did." I said,

"Shhh, we don't speak about that." He said,

"They looked nice! You should wear them more often." I said,

"I'll wear them for you if you ever want to come over." He said,

"Everest?" I heard my dad yell from the other side of my door, Luke muted himself instantly, I did the same.

I sighed and waited a few minutes but he didn't leave. I went off FaceTime and texted Alaki, he was out at the moment so he wouldn't be back for a while, I got out my headphones and used them so my dad wouldn't hear Luke.

"I had to text Alaki." I said once I got back on FaceTime.

"How long until he gets home?" Luke asked,

"He said it would be a while-"

"Everest who are you talking to!?" My dad yelled.

I went completely silent.

"I'll come over." He said,

I instantly gave him a concerned and confused look.

"You can't!?" I harsh whispered.

"Do you have a window?" He asked,

I panned the camera around the the window,

"Great, there's a tree I'll be fine, give me a few minutes." He said,

"Luke no-" I couldn't finish before Luke hung up.

Honestly Luke must have gone over the speed limit on his way here because he got here a lot quicker than expected.

I genuinely enjoyed filming him climb up the tree because it took him a good 10 minutes and the struggle he went through was genuinely a little entertaining.

He got to my window and I gave him a hand when he went to climb inside. He actually stumbled a little making a loud thudding noise.

"Everest!" I heard my dad yell, a lot louder than he has in a long time. I just jumped at the sound of his voice and Luke moved in front of me.

"Open the door!" He screamed.

"Luke go his in the closet." I said,

"No way." He said, "I'm not stupid, Everest just come home with me."

"Luke I can't do that! How would we even get out of here?"

"There's a tree." He said,

"I'd probably fall and die," I said,

"I won't let you, come on it's fine." He said, "if he's distracted now then he won't see us leave, if he's mad he could break that door any second."

I don't know what happened to me, but something sparked inside of me that told me to just trust Luke. It's probably not a good idea to get this close to someone but in the moment I don't care.

"Okay... lets go." I said,

"Good." He said taking my hand,

"Oh gosh if I fall i could die, his is way to high up." I panicked looking down at the ground.

"The worst that will happen is a broken leg, and I have a car so I can take you to the hospital, it will be fine." He said,

"That doesn't make me feel any better!" I said,

"Oh come on, live a little!" He said, he got into the branch closest to my window. "I'll get down first so you know what branches are strong."

"How sweet." I said,

After Luke got down he guided me down slowly, when I got to about 10 feet off the ground i started panicking because I knew what he was going to say,

"Now jump." He said,

"Not happening." I said,

"I'll catch you!" He said putting his arms up,

"What if you miss?" I said,

"I won't, I promise. Trust me." He said,

I sat down on the branch, I closed my eyes (even if that's not a smart idea) and dropped off the branch and after a second I felt Luke's arms wrap around me.

I opened my eyes and smiled at him,

"Told you." He winked at me while setting me down on the ground before taking my hand.

We ran down to where his car was he drove off, the music blaring and for the first time in forever I felt free, like nothing was holding me back, it felt amazing.
