Everything Wrong with : Sonic Fandom (Mainly the wattpad one)
Warning : This book contains my overall opinion and view on specific topics that I feel like, should be talked about or handled better. Crazy enough, these are my opinions...

Fanfictions, a really hard topic to discuss.
For a fact, I dont read Sonic fanfictions. Not here atleast. Books and Stories here never really tend to interest me, because they all use ideas that seem too inappropriate or unrealistic in a Sonic point of view, to me.
But right now I wont let my biased opinions on personal tastes on stories stop me from writing this. What I have done is I've seen summaries. I guess that makes my knowledge on books very limited, but I have seen a decent amount, enough to write this rant.
And what I can say is, more fanfictions (Sonic-related ones) are HILARIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSly sad.
Not wanting to sound rude there, but then again I'm trying to make a general opinion. Like I said, I havent read much, only reading until the "summary" of each book. To be fair, I havent really read much summaries for stories that DONT relate to Sonic.Well I've read are SonSal, SonAmy and the a lot of Sonadow summaries, mostly made by the people I follow.
I hope no one would get angry at me for pointing my next opinions out, since like I've told everyone, I do know that we all vary in taste.
It's just that based on what I've actually read, fanfictions here seem uninteresting because they tend to explore too much, to the point that details that are official are being left out i.e. Personality and Character traits and even important history points that makes a character good in the first place.
Again, this is mostly speculation. Trying to figure out what I'll read based on how it's introduced is an important aspect of writing in wattpad, because we are being given the free will to introduce the story to the readers in anyway we can, and it has to be interesting to attract readers. Some that I've seen seems click-baity and I dont think I need to explain why.
When I saw those summaries, I try to imagine out what I think I'll see, because some people can make them in a way that I can already predict what I'll be seeing, but still hides in the exciting things for me to read. I'm not saying writers need to perfect, because i know for a fact that even I cant write and I have low tastes when it comes to what I read honestly
But if for fact, that the story I'm about to read seems really unlike what it's based from, personally the fanfiction to me might become unreadable, but then again that's just me.
I dont want to keep repeating the term OOC (out-of-character) too much, but sometimes when I read something, it's the first word I think of.
I know that most stories here are AUs and stuff, but I dont think AUs are supposed to change a characters personality, I think. I mean, I wont name these stories, but I think AUs are supposed to be alternate realities where they live, grow and is told differently for their original selfs, but If you're making the character A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON, then just make it as self-insert fic instead.
AGAIN, its not like I'm expecting the world to be this perfect place where I get everything I want, the way I want it to be. I know lots of people enjoy these stories and I'm happy or that, but am I the only one who reads something and wants to comment"WOW HE IS ACTING SO OOC" but doesnt because I dont want to be yelled for (being honest) for being a hater. I mean geez, just because you're OTP is happening doesnt mean you should expect it right away.
To all who reads my stuff, When I asked for recommendations for my Sonadow Fic rant research that is as in character as possible, while looking for more, Sonadow basically became the ship that I've read stories about the most, and pretty much became the driving force of this rant.
I mean,I really dont want o keep arguing about how ridiculous its fans could be, because I know I'll end up arguing with a brick wall. But it's just that most books seem to give Sonic and Shadow such impossible scenarios just to force them in as a couple.
I know that you want to write out Sonic and Shadow like they are sooooooooooo perfect together, but why does everyone like to emphasize the fact that they are GAY before the story even begins? Can't you even write a decent story where they can develop into a pairing without making them seem like they cant be attracted to anything else but each other?
Also what's with those fics that are like, "Can he find his soul mate?????"? I mean geez I know you guys really really like a ship, but please calm down act dont act like they are the most perfect thing in the world, because yes I do know that you are writing you're own universe, but that world of yours cant seem to make sonadow happen without forcing them in. I know other pairings might do it too, but atleast in another story where I have read something like that, finding a love interest was an important apect of it and is one of the driving force of the story. But the book I'm complaining aboutnot only has such an out of character plot, makes the characters seem completely different, throw of a "soulmate where are you" thing in the summary and squeezes all these together in a way that you cant even take the story seriously enough to even read it, because you know what you'll be reading might not be what you'd be expecting.
And in smut fics, which honestly I didnt even read their summaries, I'm not a disgusting preteen, but those small previews to the story that you'd get while you scroll in wattpad for PC, uuuuggggh I dont even want to talk about how they seem ridiculous to me, because I'll end up getting yelled at for being a hater while I pity these characters I respect so much. It's just that, even if I dont read ANY book about this kind of topic, just by knowing the people here you'd know what kind of stuff they.
Also what's with the amount of incest and pedophilia here? mean this is just a personal rantbut I honestly cant believe how much people here makes and thinks that SOnic and Shadow are siblings while pairing them up, and some makes a "Shadow is Sonic's dad" AU while shipping them aka DadXSon fics, which disturb me because I didnt know sonadow fans could be this low.
Sonamy and SonSal and even OC + Sonic Team stories falls into these too. Not all of them, but being OOC can be sometimes seen here, aka how Sonic reacts around Sally or the dreadfully exaggerated infatuation Sonic has for Amy. I might be sort of a Sonamy shipper, but regardless of its a AU or not, I know well enough how far you can write of Sonic's initial thoughts on Amy based on dialogue from games and comics.
Anyway, I think that'll have to be it for now. Really my eyes are dropping and I want to rest. I'm just so furious that I guess I wanted to write this down somewhere.I think I'll add more as soon as I wake up
