RPing as Official Sonic characters

Edit: I removed the word "quick rant" because I feel like its too long to be considered one Should I remove it or should I keep it? Nah I'll keep it I guess, but please do tell me if it looks like I should.

Welcome to one of my many because-of-rage rants. I havent really started on some of my bigger rants in mind, but since this was the one I felt like finishing I thought that I might as well start this so Ican finally publish it. 

Quick note/Warning: The idea of this was from months ago, back when I first started. I deleted the old rant, but decided to rehash it for the sake of making it longer and make more sense. But considering how long it was from the last time i read the specific book that activated my rage in the first place, some of my facts might be wrong or exaggerated.

When I say "Acting as Sonic characters", RPing does not fall into this category (but if any RPer feels like they fall into this, well feel free because they kinda do, depending on how you see it)

To clarify what I meant, well honestly its pretty hard to describe it specifically though. This rant is actually caused when I see people make funny pics from things they find in Google or Pinterest (where they dont even bother to look for the original artist) and give their commentary on it (which irritates me how some of them have so bland and gives no thought into the meaning ehem **archie screenshots reaction without bothering to read the whole thing** ehem). 

"But NMH! What makes it so bad? All they do give their commentary!" You might say.

Well some of them have so called "The reactions of the official characters". And yeah well when I read them I have this feeling in my head and chest where I want to slam my head on the table till I say owwie. I guess, no one here other than me would see this as something bad, and it really isnt but then I started generalizing the thought.

I've seen lots of people talk and reply, in a way that makes them represent official characters. May it be Reactions, asks or Cracks or something like that. I think I may have seen people who have done this very decently, but saying this doesnt mean I'd criticize everyone for how they perceive these characters.

All my rant back then was about how some people shouldnt immediately assume what the characters think when seeing this thing or doing another thing. You arent that character. Some people can pull it off in a way that seems acceptable, but others just make it seem out of place.

Some people, when using SEGA!Characters, makes them sound so OOC see when reacting to something, and when being for example "dared to do something", they act too forced (?) sometimes, to the point where you do see them do it, but how they are executing it feels off.

For example, Making Amy interact in a way that would make her seem like she's interested in another character (aka not sonic) in such a quick and surprising manner, that it seems to rushed instead of developed. Like I said, some can make it from okay to decent but not everyone.

Or make Silver an affectionate baby when it comes to romance. Or Make Blaze a blushing bag of sap when seeing a picture of Silver and Blaze together.

Another one, is that if you call your book "Dare the Sonic Cast" but have Sonic and Shadow all blushy-fucky about the thought of sonadow is pretty weird. I know that most of you would find that entertaining and comment lol or something, but this is asking the Sonic Cast.  know this is your interpretation of them, but its not them. 

I've said this many of times and I will keep repeating it, You have to put yourself in their shoes, not make them act as what you seem fit. 

Then again, I'm starting to sound pretty hypocritical. I'm not immediately saying that this is how you should treat them. Sure, they have official personalities and ways of speech (which I guess most people ignore) but they are still open for interpretation. 

If you like acting like a Sonic character, then feel free. It's not like my words would change anyone's perspective anyway. Its just that I take their characterizations seriously sometimes, that I can be a bit bitter when it comes to correcting people about it.

There are things that specific characters so and parts of their personality that stands out, so if you know them then bear them in mind. I do find most people's characterizations to be fine, of course until the (eww) romance shows up and ruins most characters for me.

In summary, I know that most of us here have different insights and thoughts on a character and how they act, but atleast bear in mind their original personality when you make them talk. I know that your cracks and books about them hanging out are made for everyone's entertainment, but sometimes it can be hard to take it seriously when you feel like you arent looking at the same character anymore. I know y'all ship SONADOW and you think they are gay for each other, but when you make them dared to kiss or whatever, dont let it show, because you arent supposed to make them act based on how you want them to. You make them as how they would if they were really in that situation. Theres a difference.

Maybe I'll talk about romance some time else. Anyway thats all for this very quick rant. Again, this may seem very confusing but thats because I'm only basing and re-writing this from memory from a very very old rant. If you have some correction to point out, feel free. I'm not a pussy who cant a bite.

Instead I have a question for the sake of my research. Does anyone have recommendation for well-written SONADOW stories? I need one for one of my upcoming rants (its nothing ANTI though, I just need romance related things)
