"Ooh what's this?" Ave asked Jack who was still holding the little present bag." Luke bent down and patted Jack on the head. "It's my present to you. I want you to open it last though. " Ave looked at him questionably before nodding and turning up the music. Until the clock struck midnight everyone ate, danced, chased Jack around, and watched a movie. Ave and Luke had icing all over their faces from a mini food fight they decided to have. Luckily Dan and I stopped it as soon as Ave pushed Luke's face into his cake as "payback." Overall everyone had a lot of fun. Luke and Dan decided that Luke would take Ave over to their condo so he could give her his present and study. I almost forgot that Luke was still in university. I wonder if he's a good student.
After Luke and Ave left I went in my room to check my cellphone. I had just gotten a text from Garrett asking me if he missed anything in English class since he was away at a football game. I was surprised, and really relieved that Trevor hadn't texted or called me this weekend. He always tried to hang out with me as much as possible at school. I was so grateful that I have detentions with Dan until the end of the year. The only thing that sucked is that he actually made me do my math homework. At least it's helping me a lot.
Dan and I decided that it was probably safe to take a walk with Jack in the park nearby. When he finally managed to put his leash on Jack we headed out. I was once again bundled up in my long jacket while Jack was wearing his little coat. Dan was just wearing a normal jacket on top of everything. "You do realize that we're going to be cleaning, right?" I said as soon as we stepped outside and the wind attacked my face. I could already feel my eyes watering up because of it. Dan loved to bug me about the sensitivity of my eyes. "Sky, it's ok. Don't cry! It's just the cold. It won't hurt you, I promise!" he mocked me. I then thought of something and bent down to Jack's level.
"Attack daddy! Bite him... yeah good boy!" I said in a baby voice as Jack started to jump on Dan and attempt to bite him. He was still too little to do some damage. Dan got scared either way at the jumping "evil" puppy and let out a girly gasp. When we made it to the park I got this eerie feeling... like someone was watching us. I quickly spun my head around to see if I would catch some random psycho about to jump out at us. I almost crashed into a tree while doing so, but there was no one behind us. I let out a breath that I didn't know was being held. I have got to stop watching scary movie trailers.
Dan and I threw a dog toy a few times for Jack before deciding to head back. Dan suddenly stopped me and pulled me into a kiss. I smiled at him, slightly confused at his sudden gesture. "I wanted to be able to kiss my girlfriend in public for once," he explained with a grin. I mimicked his expression before looping my arm through his.
When we were near the exit of the park Jack suddenly started barking, which was scaring me. Both Dan and I looked in the direction that Jack was looking and saw a figure with a big jacket walk the other direction and leave the park. "That was weird," Dan trailed off. I don't think he realized that he was holding onto my arm tighter until I wiggled around uncomfortably. "Sorry," he apologized sheepishly before we finally exited the park. I was still kind of shocked at the random person alone at the park, but it is Toronto so it's nothing out of the ordinary. "We should get up early tomorrow so we can get to my parent's place in time," Dan said casually. I suddenly began worrying all over again.

"Wake up beautiful" Dan said smoothly and he lightly shook my arm. My eyes fluttered open to see a poorly lit room and an alarm clock. "Oh my God!" I screamed and jumped out of bed, running straight into the washroom without even retrieving a clean towel from the closet. "Relax sky, we have time," Dan said from the other side of the shower curtain. I stuck out my head, shampoo hat and all. I glared at Dan while trying to stop soap from getting into my eyes.
