Since I had an employee's discount and a student discount card, Spot came out a lot cheaper than we all thought. The normal price for a Golden Retriever was $1200.00, but Spot only came out at $750.00. My parents gave me $300.00, Luke and Ave both gave $150.00 each since they didn't buy anything expensive for Dan, and I was going to pay the rest since I had been saving up since our two-month anniversary. I was expecting to be paying about $500.00, but only ended up paying $100.00. I felt bad that everyone else paid more so I decided to add in all of the supplies that Dan would need for Spot for the first few months.
"How much did it come out to?" Dan asked since I didn't let him see the total. I smiled smugly at him before answering. "Way less than I ever would've thought," I said before putting the receipt in a little drawer and locking it so he wouldn't ever see. He glared at me when I stuck my tongue out. "I really don't want you spending money on me," he said with a pout. I smiled at how thoughtful he was. "It came out cheap and it was all of us. You really wanted this for a long time and you deserve him. By the way, you can change his name. He's only nine weeks old so he can get use to something new very quickly," I informed him. Dan smiled at me and was about to kiss me before he realized that we were in a public mall that probably contained students from my school.
"I think I'll name him Jack," he decided. The newly named puppy, Jack, looked up from Dan's arms before raising one of his little puppy eyebrows and yawning. I couldn't help but coo at the cuteness of the puppy. "I think he likes it," I said and Dan agreed. I helped Dan set up a carrier that would be big enough for Jack until he was about six months old. "Thank you so much for this, Sky," Dan said with so much love in his eyes as his smile was reaching his eyes. It made me feel really happy to see Dan experiencing so much Joy. "No problem. You deserve it," I said. Ave came out of the back room with a huge dog book about Golden retrievers. I proceeded to explain everything that he would need to know and stuck sticky notes in the important pages.
Ave took over my cash register since I was technically doing my job and helping a customer.
"Oh my gosh! Hi Mr. Phillips. Is that your puppy?" A girl named Alana said as she walked towards us. "Hello Alana, and yes he is," Dan said with a huge smile. "Hi Sky!" Alana greeted me to which I greeted her back. "I haven't seen you here in a while. I wanted to ask some questions about cat toys, but didn't want to talk to someone other than you or Avery," she explained. I couldn't help but feel happy that someone from school wanted to talk to Avery and I, even if it was just about cat toys. "Sure thing. I'm just explaining some things to Mr. Phillips and then I can help you. If Ave is free you can ask her," I said and pointed to the cash. Alana smiled and said bye to Dan and I before heading over to Avery. "She's in my day two class," Dan explained. I nodded and smiled before explaining how to get Jack comfortable at home.

After a long morning of work, Ave and I decided to head over to Dan and Luke's apartment. When Luke let us in the first thing we saw was Dan attempting to get Jack to let him put his collar on. Jack was actually shaking his head at Dan, which made everyone laugh at him. "Why won't he let me?" he asked me desperately. I laughed again before making my way over to Jack. "He's the smart one, remember?" I said before kneeling down. I pulled a soft treat from my pocket and held it up for Jack.
"Alright Jack, you're going to listen to me and you're going to listen good. I'll give you this treat if you let Dan put your collar on you, ok?" I said to the puppy. His eyes narrowed at me before I dragged Dan back to him. "Try putting it on him now," I said. Dan nodded and slowly put the collar on Jack as the puppy continued to stare at the treat that I was holding up. "Good boy," Dan said happily before taking the treat from me and giving it to Jack. He walked away munching happily on his little snack.
"So I'm going to be calling you every five minutes to ask you about the little demon," Dan joked before giving me a long awaited kiss. It sucked that we couldn't share any intimacy this morning. "Alright, we're heading out," Luke said with his arm around Avery and left quickly before we could even say bye. Dan and I both laughed at them before sitting on the sofa.
"When I got home I called my mom. My parents want to meet you as soon as they get back from a business trip in a few weeks," Dan said. I tensed up as I started to feel nervous. "What if they hate me?" I whispered to myself before I felt Dan squeezing me in his arms. "Don't worry, Sky. They'll love you. The worst that could possibly happen is they getting angry with me for dating one of my students, which when I say it out loud makes it sound awful. We just need to explain what happened to them and let them cool off if worst comes to worst," he explained and kissed my temple. I was about to retort and start worrying about something else when Dan started kissing lower until he reached my neck, which made me let out a moan.
I felt Dan smirk before he continued on sucking at my weak spot, which instantly made me wrap my arms around his neck. I brought his lips back up to mine and ran my fingers all through his hair, which had grown quite a bit. I was straddling Dan and I could feel the bulge growing in his pants when Jack decided to bark and ruin the moment. Dan groaned and glared at the little puppy that looked like he was glaring back at Dan. "Why do we always get interrupted?" Dan complained. I giggle before picking Jack up. "Do you want to go out for a walk?" I asked him in a baby voice. His tail started wagging and he barked in excitement.
"Alright, Jack, let's make your owner walk you," I said to the puppy before handing him over to Dan. "You do realize that I have to get rid of a little something first, right?" Dan said and pointed down to his crotch area. I threw my head back and laughed. "Just think of the school librarian naked or something," I said, which made Dan shiver. "That lady keeps winking at me. She looks like she's at least eighty," he complained. I gave him a strict look, which made him close his eyes and say "old naked men" repeatedly for a while before his little "problem" went away.
"Out you go boys. I don't want to see you back for another 20 minutes. And don't forget to pick up after him!" I yelled out after I pushed Dan into the hallway and threw his jacket at him. He attempted to scowl at me, but only ended up smiling before getting into the elevator. It excited me to think that when they got back from the walk that I would be getting some one on one time with Dan without any distractions.
