It was another day closer to the day of his surgery.
Luke planned on doing something special but first Michael had a doctors appointment, and Luke wanted to come too.
Karen drove while Luke and Michael were in the back seat, watching stupid videos on Luke's phone.
"I wish I had a phone.."
"Maybe we'll get you one after.."
Karen said as she kept driving.
They had been saying after a lot recently.
And they just mean after the surgery, but Michael's been thinking.
"So many things are gonna happen after, I'm so excited!"
Luke kissed Michael's temple while whispering 'I love yous'.
"Luke.."
"Yeah babe?"
"Why do you keep saying after?"
Luke put his hand in Michael's, trying to reassure him.
"Because soon you'll be all better, and we can do so many things instead of us staying at your place."
"But Luke what if.."
Luke gently squeezed his hand.
"You'll be all better, I promise."
