Luke grumbled.

"Mom why do you hate them so much?"

"I honestly have nothing against Karen, she started this war and I found an opportunity to watch her crumble."

I'm so done with this, I'm so done with you!

I just don't want the love of my life to die on me."

Luke didn't even notice he was crying until his vision became blurry.

It's not like Liz hasn't seen her son cry before, but something about this time seemed different to her.

That's when it hit her.

"W-wow, I'm being really selfish."

Liz said with a shaky voice.

"I just wanted all my kids to grow up doing good, but how can that happen when I'm the worst mom on the planet.

My son loves a boy with cancer and all he wants to do is make him feel better..

But I-I'm only ruining the chances of him surviving."

Luke and Liz both sat on the floor.

"I'm sorry mom."

"For what?

I should be saying sorry, which I am of course."

"Maybe Michael will die, and I will lose someone I love.

Maybe I should just go to college, so you don't have to worry about me failing."

"No no, sweetie.

Don't think like that, I put those thoughts into your head I'm so sorry."

"Mom?

Can I please have the money."

"Yes Luke, you can."

Luke's eyes lit up and his smile grew wide.

He was hugging his mom to death and saying thank you repeatedly.

"Um, Luke.."

Liz pointed at the window.

From across the street an ambulance can be seen driving away.

"Dear god."

Luke ran a hand through his hair.
