This chapter is the beginning of the end. Initially, I intended for this chapter to be the end so I kept writing but then I got carried away and the word count went up to almost 5000 words. That's when I decided to divide the chapters instead of cramming them all into one long one. Plus, the DM's and the verbal demands (for the next chapter) from readers are pouring in. Thank you so much, by the way! I truly appreciate the continued reading. It pains me that this story is nearing its end but it also excites me that another story will begin.

I am in the process of finishing the next part so please hang in there!

"I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU MR. AND MRS. RICHARD FAULKERSON JR! RJ, you may now kiss the bride."

As soon an RJ heard those words, he finally let out the breath he didn't realize he was holding. Holy shit! I think 'insecure Maine' is rubbing off on me. Oh don't get him wrong, he was sure on his part. He didn't have any doubt, at all, that he wanted Maine for his wife. He was holding his breath because he was still harbouring doubts that Maine will truly marry him. Yes, 'insecure Maine' is definitely rubbing off. I didn't realize that she was contagious. Oh right! I may now kiss my bride! Faulkerson, wake up!

Maine was looking into RJ's eyes as soon as they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs Faulkerson and she saw the flash of emotions that passed. He might not have realized it, but she saw them; subtle as they were. My poor RJ! I think I might have given him enough reasons for him to feel a little unsure of himself. Look at what you've done Mendoza! Oh no wait, I'm now a Faulkerson! Yay! So Maine did what she thought was best. She reached up, pulled RJ by his nape and kissed him HARD! Her tongue demanded entry. And once he acquiesced, she explored.

It took half a second for RJ to realize that Maine took the initiative to start their first kiss as a married couple. It took even shorter than that for him to respond to the kiss. If it weren't for the reverend clearing his throat 10 times, the guests hooting and clapping and Sebastian jumping up and down in between them, their first kiss would've turned into a full blown make out session and probably a lot more.

RJ had to take control and turn the heat down a notch (so to speak). He gently pulled back with much reluctance while cupping Maine's cheeks so as not to totally break the contact. Meanwhile, Maine leaned her forehead to his and gave him one last smack on the lips. But before he could altogether pull away, he heard Maine whisper.

"RJ, my love, I'm yours ok. Don't ever doubt that. Doubt anything else but never that! I'm all yours" she stated fervently against his lips.

All RJ could do was smile after that. Smile like a stupid idiot but a happy stupid idiot. He was brought back to the present when he felt his son tugging on his sleeves. He gently picked Sebastian up, turned to Maine and wrapped his free arm around her waist.

"Are you ready to take your first step as Mrs. Faulkerson?"

"I've been ready since last week, Mr. Faulkerson" Maine responded back. Then she turned to Sebastian. "What about you baby? Are you ready?" Sebastian only nodded his head vigorously, not really understanding what the question was. And as the family of three, soon to be four, took their first steps together, they were met with congratulatory wishes, hugs, kisses, pats on the back and overall happiness.
