This is the longest chapter I have ever written. I swear, once I started, I couldn't stop. I wanted to make sure I covered all the bases because I want the next chapter to be just about the wedding. So please, forgive the lengthy chapter but I still hope y'all enjoy reading anyway.
Strong and suggestive language scattered all throughout! Thank you!

Maine woke up to a single ray of sunshine, hitting her eyes, peeking through the drapes covering the bay windows in the master bedroom of the 'rental house'. She automatically reached out her hand to her left side but was met with an empty space. Well, not totally empty, cause a little lower on the bed was her son, all sprawled out on the bed, sleeping like the baby that he is.

It took 30 seconds for Maine to recollect that RJ did not sleep with her last night, rather, he went home to his condo after their 'boys night out'. Then she remembered when he called her in the middle of his drunkenness. Hearing RJ drunk was one of the highlights of last night. He was always the cool and collected type of a guy and with his borderline OCD, he was always perfect or seemed to be anyway.

To know that RJ can also be incoherent when he's drunk was a boost to 'insecure Maine's' ego. Yes, that's right! As much as Maine tried to deny it, 'insecure Maine' is very much a part of her and RJ's life. She knows for sure that, that part of her is and will be creeping in the background, waiting for an opportunity to surface once again. Oh well, I guess that is what they call for better or worse.

Maine glanced at the bedside clock and saw the time to be 8:30 in the morning. The morning of her wedding day! The morning of the rest of her life. The morning of the day that she will be Mrs. Richard Faulkerson Jr! And with that thought, she reached for her phone to facetime her fiancé (her husband by the end of the day). She got distracted by her engagement ring as she waited for RJ to pick up the call. It doesn't matter how long she has worn the ring, it still takes her breath away everytime she looks at it. It took 4 rings before RJ's face showed up on the screen.

"Whoa! Who punched you in the face?" Maine asked incredulously. RJ looked like he did not sleep a wink. His eyes were bloodshot, his hair disheveled and he looked like he slept in yesterday's clothes.

"Good morning to you too. And stop yelling. I can hear you just fine" RJ complained while finger massaging his temples and squinting his eyes. "Why is it so bright in here" he added as he attempted to head to the bathroom and tripped on something or someone on the floor in the process. The faint sound of protest could be heard on his end.

"Who was that?" Maine asked suspiciously.

"I honestly don't know and I don't care. There's 3 bodies littering my bedroom floor" RJ mumbled as he continued to stagger to the bathroom making the phone shake and become unfocused. He was about to open the bathroom door when it opened from the other side and Nicolas came strutting out, looking well rested and fresh.

"Morning bro. I used one of the spare toothbrush from under the sink" Nicolas greeted. "Morning Meng" he added as he spied his sister's face on the phone.

"Morning Kuya!" Maine yelled back as Nicolas's back began retreating. "I'm getting married today" she added.

"Love, please don't yell" RJ whispered pitifully while closing the bathroom door. "Uhmm, I'm heading in the shower now but I can keep the phone on if you want" he added with an attempt of a wink but he actually ended up looking constipated.

"That was the lamest attempt at flirting you've ever done. It's so pathetic, it's not even funny. See what a hangover does to a smooth talking guy like you? I'm so disappointed in you" she said mockingly with a shake of her head. "Ugh! If you keep that up, I just might change my mind about marrying you" Maine stated seriously but as soon as she saw the widening of RJ's eyes, a smile started to play around her lips.
