Aaahhhh Las Vegas. Sin city. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas....blah blah blah, Maine muttered to herself as she walked along the lobby of Ceasars's Palace. To call her bitter these days was an understatement. Yes, she was fuckin bitter! Bitter about how her life was turning out right now. Bitter because she was here in Vegas by herself! Bitter because Gabriel, her boyfriend for the past year decided to fuckin' cheat on her with his 'best friend'! Bitter because she just found out about the cheating 2 months ago when apparently it's been happening for 6 months prior! Bitter because this trip was supposed to be with Gabriel (that asshole) but now she was here by herself cause it was more expensive to cancel the whole trip. Being the cheapskate that she was, she decided to come to this trip by herself! Uuuggghhh! And yes, she was bitter because it's fuckin' 110 degrees outside and she can't even go anywhere because of the heat wave. And that was why she was roaming the lobby of the hotel like a crazed cat with no direction. It doesn't help that she decided to wear a bodycon yellow dress that accentuated her curves paired with her favourite black stilts that emphasized her well formed calves. Why? Because even if she was hurting on the inside, she still had to look her best on the outside. It doesn't matter that it's only 1:30 in the afternoon. Hey, it's Vegas after all. And she's newly single so she can wear whatever she wants! Right?!? Right!

As she continued to roam the lobby, she spotted the Cheesecake Factory and felt hungry all of a sudden. She remembered not having any breakfast because she woke up at 11:00 this morning. She decided to have a bit of lunch so she headed to the restaurant. She spied a few people by the entrance waiting for a table. Again, because she was a cheapskate (self confessed and proud), she looked inside her purse for the restaurants' coupon that was given to her when she checked in yesterday. She was busy searching when she walked straight into a wall! Wait...what?!? That's not a wall. It's human! With a really hard body and strong hands! She tried to prevent her purse from falling but the impact was too strong and her purse contents was now scattered on the floor!

"Oh shit! I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking at where I was going! Are you alright?" this from a deep melodious baritone.

"Oh no! It was me who wasn't looking. I should've been paying more attention" was her quick response.

"Here let me help you...."

"No I got it...."

Both uttered at the same time coupled with them bending down at the same time that they ended up banging their foreheads (a little too hard).

"Ow" ...

"Fuck"...

Maine held on to her forehead as she looked up and found herself staring at the brownest brown of eyes (it's hazel really) she had ever laid her eyes on. She then focused on the owner and she suddenly felt a little light headed.

Oh my god! Did I just die?!? I'm staring at the face of an angel. Suddenly the angel smiled and a dimple to his left cheek appeared. I am dead. I don't remember dying though. The angel in front of her then answered back.

"No ma'am, you're not dead. A bit of a head injury perhaps but definitely not dead. And thank you for calling me an angel but I'm more of a devil, if you ask me", he uttered with a small laugh.

Maine then realized that she spoke her thoughts out loud and wished for the floor to open up and swallow her whole. She was about to apologize again but the 'angel' (or devil, according to him) was now busy picking up her things from the floor and stuffing it back into her purse. She spied her phone about 6 feet away and she headed over to pick it up when she noticed that the screen is cracked. Nope not cracked, it's smashed. Broken.

"Oh shit, shit, shit! No, no no no! I just bought this a week ago" she mumbles. She picks up her phone and starts cradling it like a tiny baby.

Then it happened! Tears came flooding and she couldn't do anything to stop them. It overwhelmed her like a dam had burst and she started sobbing like a 3 year old. Everything just came crashing down! The heartache that she had been hiding inside came forth and she sobbed like there's no tomorrow. The sobs where catching a breath was nearly impossible. She was about to fall to the floor when she felt strong arms circling her and heard the soft whispers of consolation in her ear.

"Sshhhh, it's ok. It's just a phone. I'll replace it, I promise. I'll buy you a new one, I swear. Ssshhh. It's alright".

Maine did not realize that she had now turned to the angel (devil..oh whatever!) and was holding on to him like he's her lifeline. Her head pressed on to his chest. She felt his hands rubbing circles on her back and slowly leading her to a place where there's chairs to sit on. They sat down but she continued to cry and cling to the warm body next to her. They stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity until her sobs have died down to mere hiccups.
