I open the door and drag my heavy bags across the living room.

"Dad?" I shout, wanting to burst into tears again. "Dad, it's Toby." A single tear rolls down my face and I wipe it off before my dad can see it.

"Toby?" He asks, from another room.

"Where are you?" I go in the kitchen looking for him, but it's empty.

"Marco!" He shouts.

"Dad, I'm really not in the mood for this."

"Polo!" He says, answering himself.

"Dad, I don't think you know how the game works."

I go towards our backyard and see my dads arm through the squared tiles of the back door. I open it.

"Dad, I—"

"Toby." Theo says, standing next to my dad.

"Theo." I breath out.

"I'm going to... Go inside now. I think you two should catch up." My dad says, and then leaves through the door I came in from.

"What... What are you doing here?" I ask him.

"Looking for you." He answers.

"Where were you? Ziggy said you were gone."

"I was. I was in Thailand."

"Oh. That is quite random." I tell him, scratching my head and feeling uncomfortable. He does the same, and we both chuckle when we realize we share the same pose.

"So. You came back." I tell him.

"So did you."

I nod and press my lips against each other. "So you heard."

"I did. What got into you?" He asks.

"I wanted to give it another try."

"Then why did you come back?" He asks.

"Why did you come back?"

He gets closer to me. With that stare that makes my soul seem exposed. "Because you were here."

I take a step back, cautiously. "That's a lie. Don't do that. Don't—"

"It's the truth."

"..."

"Ziggy told me you were going to England, so I came back."

"So you came back because you thought I wouldn't be here to bother you anymore?"

He steps closer.

"I came back because I couldn't let you leave without telling you a couple things."

"And you couldn't call?"

"No." He comes closer again.

"You are the one who left. I thought we were friends but you left and didn't even tell me." I let him know how much that hurt.
