"What are you saying, exactly?" Jack asks me. His eyes smiling.
"I'm saying we graduate in a week, and after that... I'll give us a try."
He hugs me, almost laughing of excitement with the news.
"I'm so happy!!" His accent sounds thicker when he's really excited. "What made you change your mind?"
"Oh, just... Life."
He hugs me again, and kisses my head like a loving husband.
"And you're absolutely sure you want to come to England with me this summer?"
I look down. "Yes."
"You seem upset, my sun."
I look away.
"I will make you very happy. You'll see." I smile vaguely, hearing those kind words that should mean more to me than they do.
