"I don't think you understand why you're here, Sky," I hinted with my voice and raised an eyebrow. Sky still looked angry and a bit lost. She finally closed the door, which thankfully had no window on it. "So this isn't a unfair detention?" I shook my head. "No, it's a fair detention. You did use your phone during class." Sky looked furious, but then slowly came to realization "Oh! I get it. This is part of your plan, isn't it?" I nodded and checked that the door was locked. I had already gotten a student from my previous class to close the shades because it was "too sunny." Sky walked towards me and got really close to kissing me when she whispered, "can I have my phone now?" When Sky backed away I pulled her back towards me and stole a quick kiss, which ended up turning into a much deeper one. Sky pulled away after a minute and smiled at me.

"Alright," I started as I handed the phone back to her. I walked over to the door and opened it. "If I see it again during class it's a whole month of lunch time detention and a call home from me," I said with a smirk. She smirked back. She knew very well that it wouldn't matter seeing as she lives on her own with Avery. "I'll see you around and if not, have a great weekend Miss Evans," I yelled after Sky. She kept on walking away and waved. "You too, Mr. Phillips."

I decided to eat in the cafeteria instead of the teacher's lounge or my own classroom. I wanted to see how the students interacted outside of class. I scanned the entire cafeteria and spotted Sky and Avery sitting alone. They seemed to be having a conversation. When I was going to move onto looking at another table, a cheerleader, I believe Brittany was her name, approached Sky and Avery. I couldn't figure out what they were saying, but by the way Avery stood up it couldn't have been good.

Avery was quite shorter than Brittany. Probably because she was wearing converse and Brittany was wearing high heels. Avery covered her face as if she were hiding her eyes from a scary movie. When she opened her hands, she screamed, "boo," which made Brittany let out a squeal and almost fell down. I couldn't help but laugh at Avery's antics. She looked very different at school compared to the summer.

I noticed some of the guys that sat at the back of my class laughing at Brittany, but she soon began yelling at them before storming out of the lunchroom. Avery returned to her seat as if nothing had happened and continued her conversation with Sky. I returned to scanning the rest of the room while eating my sandwich, thinking about how much high school had changed since I graduated.

"What the hell is wrong with me man?" Luke agitatedly greeted me as I walked through the door. "I don't know? There's a lot wrong with you. Explain what happened this time," I said amused. This should be good. "I was hitting on a girl today- One of the usual ones," he started. Usual ones. That was code word for one of the girls that would do anything to be able to tell people that she slept with Luke. "I helped her take her bag to her room and when she said that her roommate wouldn't be home for a while, I decided to stay." I nodded for him to continue. "I couldn't get it to work for her, man! She's mega hot and did everything right. How is that possible?" he said as if it were the end of the world. I started laughing. Luke just scowled at me.

"What did she say when it didn't work?" Luke smirked. "I said she probably wasn't sexy enough. I told her that I banged her friend a few weeks ago and everything went perfectly." I shook my head. "You're such a dick, Luke. Why don't you just find yourself a girlfriend?" I asked him seriously. He just shook his head and walked off while mumbling something that sounded a lot like, "Because she doesn't even notice that I like her." Interesting. Very interesting. I checked my phone and saw that it was already six o'clock. Time to call Sky. The phone rang twice before Avery picked up.

"Hi, this is Daniel Phillips calling to inform you that Sky has one remaining chance to avoid lunch time detentions with me for the rest of the month." "Oh hey Dan, what's up?" Ave said in a preppy voice, which threw me off. I didn't believe Sky when she explained how different Avery was at school. "No one can say I didn't call. Is Sky there?" I could hear Ave chewing a piece of gum. "Yes, but she's taking a shower. Oh, Dan?" she asked. "Yes?" Ave took a deep breath. "Make sure your little friend doesn't break in anymore! My pillow was on the floor and it wasn't like that when I left!" She yelled into the phone. I cringed and pulled the phone away from my ear before I lost all hearing. "I'll tell him not to? How do you know it was him?" I asked amused. "It smells like his cologne and I caught him here once. Actually, can you guys come over Saturday night? We want to make dinner. It'll be so good that he'll think twice before breaking in again," Avery said with a hint of venom in her voice. I couldn't help but laugh.

"I'll be sure to do that. I should leave you do the homework that should be on my desk Monday morning. Tell Sky I love her and I'll see her tomorrow for me?" I said as I sat back down. I didn't even realize that I had gotten up. "Ugh, you're killing me Mr. P. I'll tell her. See you tomorrow, Bye." Ave said and hung up before I could even say bye back. So Luke is apparently breaking in to Sky's place. Why does he even go through all of the trouble? He's probably just doing it because Avery's playing hard to get. Hopefully Avery's plan of making a nice dinner on Saturday will teach him how to act sane. Then again, it is Luke. "He's never completely sane," I said out loud. "Who's never completely sane?" Luke said as he walked by. Damn it.

"Avery! She invited us over on Saturday. She's not sane because she included you in the invite," I answered a bit too quickly. Smooth Dan. Smooth. "I knew she couldn't resist my charms," he said with a smirk on his face as he walked towards the kitchen. "Or hitting you various times," I muttered as I headed towards my room. At around 11:00 I was getting into bed. As I took my cellphone out of my pocket to charge it over night, it started vibrating. "Hey beautiful. Calling to say goodnight?" I said to Sky. "Yes I am. I love you so much," she said with her voice getting quieter. "Are you ok, Sky?" I hate hearing her when she's sad. It breaks my heart. "Yeah, I'm just scared," she said before sniffling. "Scared of what?" Sky paused for a bit.

"I'm scared about someone finding out about us and you losing your job. I don't want you to get into trouble because of me. I love you way too much. You deserve way better." She said quickly and sounded like she was crying. "Sky, listen to me. I love you to an extent that you can't even imagine. I'm going to do my best that no one can find out about us. If anything I can quit my job and work for a university so we can still be together. Heck, I'll even move halfway across the world if you'd come with me." I heard Sky giggle a bit and smiled at the sound.

"You're the only girl for me, Sky. You are the one who deserves better, but I don't want you to find better." I completely spilled my heart out to her. "You really love me that much?" She asked me softly. "Of course I do," I answered back honestly. "Good. Because that explains how much I love you too." She answered. I could practically feel her smiling. "Good. I'll see you tomorrow Sky. I love you. Goodnight," I said smiling. "I love you too. Goodnight," Sky said back before hanging up. I smiled to myself before plugging my phone into its charger and drifting off to sleep.
