Ch. 60- Party

I tapped the end of my pencil against my paper impatiently. I sighed, and looked over at Chase, who was sitting a few seats away from me. He saw me looking at him and smiled. I smiled back, and then tried to listen to the teacher again.

"For the next activity, you'll be put in groups," The teacher announced. She read off the list of groups, and I carefully listened for my name.

"Chase, Nicole, and Clara, you three are in a group," she said. I looked over at Chase and grinned, happy we were in the same group. I wonder who Clara is.

Soon, the teacher finished reading off the list, and told us to get in our groups. I walked over to Chase, "Do you know who Clara is?" I asked him. He nodded, "Yeah. I know who she is. I'll point her out for you."

I saw a girl standing behind Chase, right as he was about to turn around.

"Wait, Cha-" I began, but it was too late. Chase had turned around, and accidentally hit the girl in the face. She fell to the ground, clutching her nose, which Chase had hit with his elbow.

"Chase, you need to stop hitting girls," I said, starting to crouch beside the fallen girl. Chase did the same, "It was completely on accident, Clara. I'm sorry."

"It's okay," She mumbled in reply. I then looked at her face. She had layered blond hair and bright blue eyes. Then, it clicked. I know her! That's the Clara who was on the plane crash with me!

"Clara....?" I asked in disbelief. She looked at me, then realized who I was, "Nicole?" she asked, still clutching her bloody nose.

"You two know each other?" Chase asked, "I thought you said you didn't know her, Nicole?"

"I thought I didn't know her either," I replied, "But, I didn't know she was the Clara that was in the plane crash."

I looked up to see the teacher walking over, "What's going on?" She asked us, seeing that we were crouched on the floor next to Clara. I stood up, "Well, Clara accidentally got hit in the nose by Chase's elbow. Is it okay if I take her to the nurse?" I asked.

"Go ahead," The teacher replied. I helped Clara back up to her feet. I led her out of the room and down the hallway.

"I can't believe you actually go to my school, Clara!" I exclaimed. She smiled, "I was so surprised, too. You did seem faintly familiar when I saw you on the plane, but I wasn't sure. I thought I would never see you again! Oh, how was your boyfriend doing? I heard he got hurt pretty bad."

"He's fine," I replied, "What about you?"

"I'm fine, too," She answered, "I had no problems after the surgery."

"That's great," I replied, smiling. I looked up to see we had arrived at the nurse's office. I pushed open the door, and allowed Clara to go in first. She walked into the nurses office, and the nurse started to treat her bloody nose.

"You can go back to class, dear," The nurse said, when she noticed that I was standing there. I nodded, and went back to lunch.

"Hey guys, can Clara join us?" I asked the others who were sitting at the lunch table. Clara was standing next to me, tightly gripping her tray in her hands. Evan smiled, "Sure, that sounds great."

I sat next to Ashton at the lunch table, and Clara was on my other side. On her other side was Marie.

"Clara, let me introduce everyone for you," I said. I pointed to each person and said their names, "That's Ashton, Evan, Chase, Rain, and Marie."

They all mumbled nice to meet you's all together. Clara shyly said hi to them back. I started to eat, and I heard Marie loudly talking to Clara. Rain and Chase were arguing about something.

"I have announcement, guys!" Evan loudly said, to get our attention. We all stopped talking, to see what he had to say, "Well, this weekend I was wondering if you all wanted to come to my dorm. We have our football tournament last week, and won, so we're going to have a small party. Do you wanna come?"

Everyone said yes, even Clara. Evan looked over at me, "Do you wanna come, Nicole?" He asked me. I thought about it for a minute. I then realized something. This will be my first party, besides small birthday parties I had with the boys. I guess it would be good to go to my first party, "Sure, sounds fun."

Evan grinned, "Great, everyone's coming. Just come anytime after eight on Saturday."

Now, everyone was chatting about the party, happily. All I could think was, I hope that this will go well.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Niall asked, I could tell he was concerned about me going. I nodded, as I applied eyeliner in my mirror, "Yeah, it'll be fine, Niall."

"Are you sure I shouldn't come...?" Niall asked, nervously. I shook my head, "No, you don't need to always be with me. I need to be able to have some time to myself."

Niall sighed, "I guess you're right..."

"What do you think?" I asked, once I had finished. I turned around, so Niall could see me. I was wearing a maroon jumper and floral skinny jeans. I had on heeled wedges and some jewelry. I had left my hair down and in loose brown curls. I had on mascara and eye liner with some lip gloss.

"You look lovely, babe," He replied, before kissing me on the cheek. I shoved my newly-bought phone into my front pocket. I stood up, and walked towards the hallway, Niall following behind me, as I walked down the stairs.

"Do you want me to drive you there?" He asked. I shook my head, "No, I can drive myself."

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"No," I repeated, "I'm perfectly fine with driving myself."

I walked over to the garage door, and was about to open it, when Niall stopped me, "Promise me you won't do anything bad."

I gave him an odd look, "You're acting like a dad." I never said my dad, because, well, he wouldn't have cared at all. He would've wanted me to get hurt.

"Well, someone has to," Niall replied.

"Niall, I'm nineteen," I replied, "I know what and what not to do. You don't need to lecture me."

Niall sighed, "I guess you're right. Well, good bye, I guess."

He leaned down, and kissed me on the lips. I waved good bye, and walked out of the door. I pulled out the keys to Niall's car. I had convinced him to let me drive his car over there. I got in the car, and started up the car. I pulled out of the driveway. I started to drive down the road, navigating my way to Evan's dorm on campus.

I reached the dorm, and parked. I could hear music from outside. I could see people already entering the room. Okay, this is a lot more people then I thought. I heard someone say my name. I turned around to see Rain. She smiled when she saw me, "Hey, Nicole."

"Hi," I replied, "There seems to be a lot of people here...."

"Well, that's usually what college parties are like," Rain replied. I shrugged, "I wouldn't know. I've never been to a real party with lots of people."

Rain looked at me surprised, "Really?!" She exclaimed, "But, you're like a celebrity!"

"A celebrity that's never been to a party..." I muttered in reply. Rain grabbed my arm, "Then, let's go have fun."

Rain pulled me into the dorm. We pushed open to see the room jam-packed with many college students. Music was blaring through the speakers, and I could barely hear myself think.

"There's Chase!" Rain yelled to me. I turned to the direction he was pointing at to see Chase talking with some football players. I followed Rain over to him. Chase looked up when he saw us coming. He smiled, "Hey, you guys came."

Rain and I sat beside him. Rain joined in the conversation between Chase and the other guy. I sort of zoned out and looked around at what was going on. I could see some couple making out in the corner. A few people were dancing, and drinking something. And, everyone else was just talking over the blaring music. I tried to listen in on their conversation, but was only lost.

"Hey guys," Marie said, walking over to us. We all greeted her, and she sat beside me. She looked at me confused, "I'm surprised Niall let you come. He can be really over protective."

"It took a lot of convincing, but I finally convinced him to not come with me," I replied, "What did Harry say to you?"

"I didn't tell him," Marie replied. I frowned, "Why not?"

"Harry doesn't need to know every detail of my personal life," She replied, "I am my own person."

I grew silent, thinking about what she had said. Niall was always the center of my life. He was what I was always thinking about. Niall is the one that almost controls my life now.

"Hey, do you want to get something to drink?" Marie asked me. I nodded, "Sure," I replied. Marie led me over to Evan's kitchen. We walked in, to see a couple of football players crowded around the table. There were a couple of cans of beers in the center. The guys each had a can in their hands. One of them noticed Marie and me.

"Want one?" one of the guys asked Marie. Marie nodded, "Sure."

He handed her a can. Another guy faced me. He smirked when he saw me, "Now, aren't you hot?" He asked, his voice slurred. He handed me a can of beer, "Take some," He commanded.

"No thanks," I muttered, "I'm fine."

"Take the damn can," He muttered, shoving it back at me. I grabbed the can. Marie led me back over to the other room. Marie opened up the can, and took a sip. I just looked at the can, not sure if I should open it.

"Aren't you going to drink anything?" Marie asked. I instantly looked up, "U-Um, yeah, I guess."

I opened up the can. I bit my lip nervously. I know Niall will be mad if I find out. But, I need to be able to live my own life, like Marie. Besides, I'll just control how much I drink. Last time I didn't because I was really stressed, and was hoping that alcohol would wash away my problems. It will be different this time. Nothing will happen.

I lifted up the can to my lips, and took a sip.

Okay finally updated. For some reason this chapter took me a long time. I guess it was because it was sort of boring. It was a filler so I could reach the good stuff. What do you think is going to happen with Nicole? I think you probably already know, though. Well, I'll update tomorrow. Comment, follow, and fave! Bye lovelies! -Madison
