Later that night, there was a barbecue. Beetee invented a new type of grill and wanted to test it out. Haymitch and Effie were helping him prepare dinner. Johanna was drained and wanted to get as far away from the water as possible so she took Gale inside the house. Annie was sitting in the sand with Noah, letting the water brush against his tiny feet. Peeta and I were sitting together in a beach chair by Annie's small fire pit. The air smelled smoky. I hated it. Being The Girl on Fire was in the past. I laid back on Peeta and rested my head on his chest. I closed my eyes and almost drifted into a peaceful sleep when there was a huge crash and horrific scream. Annie and Noah were hit with a colossal wave and Noah was washed out to sea.
