Forgetting The Fire's We've Started

District 4

Chapter 4:
Peeta and I woke up bright and early the next day. 

"I'm going to head next door to get Haymitch and Effie." I said as I pulled on a clean shirt. 

"I'll grab the bags and I'll meet you at the fountain." 

"Okay." I said. I walked over to him and kissed him on the lips. It took him off guard. "See you outside."

I walked downstairs and screamed in horror. Peeta came flying down the stairs. 

"What?! What is it?!" He looked around wildly then he saw it. 

Johanna and Gale were lying on the floor under blankets, the both of them completely naked. 

"When I told her to say she loved him, I didn't mean for her to break into our house and have sex on our floor!" I grabbed a pitcher of cold water from the refrigerator and threw it into both their faces.

Somehow, my horrific scream didn't wake them. It was the ice cold water on their naked bodies that did the trick. Johanna and Gale shot up and I saw a little too much of both of them. 

"What the fuck was that Katniss?", Johanna said. 

"Johanna I love you, but please put a shirt on." I said, turning to the side so I didn't have to see Johanna's breasts for the second time in my life.

"You see something you like?" she said, as she took a blanket from the couch and wrapped it around herself. 

"C'mon we have to go to District 4 to see Annie and Noah. Just get dressed and meet Peeta outside by the fountain." I walked outside into the cool spring air. That event will be forever burned into my brain. I shuddered at the thought. 

I knocked on Haymitch and Effie's door. Effie opened the door and gave me a hug.

"Hello Katniss."

"Hi, Effie." 

She no longer wore crazy wigs and outfits. She really was a pretty woman. Her Capitol accent was still there, but it wasn't as strong as it used to be. She was still into fashion, but she never wore anything fancy unless it was a special occasion. 

"Haymitch will be ready any minute now. Would you like some hot cocoa?"

"Sure." 

Haymitch and Effie have been married for almost a year. That was the day that Effie gave up the insane outfits and Haymitch sobered up. Effie handed me some hot cocoa.

 "Thank you." I said, glad to have something warm to hold in my cold hands.

 "I heard screaming a few minutes ago. Is everything alright over at the Mellark household?" 

"Yes, all that happened was I witnessed a naked Johanna and Gale lying on the living room floor." 

"Oh my... You know I thought I heard a lock turning last night before I fell asleep. I thought Peeta forgot something at the bakery and came back late." 

"I wish."

 "Good morning honey." Haymitch said as he walked into the room and kissed Effie. "Hello, sweetheart." He still hasn't ditched that nickname for me.

"Good morning, Haymitch." I replied with a smile. "Let's get going." 

By 7 o'clock everyone was outside by the fountain. Beetee was going to meet us at District 4 because he got a job in the government. We're all so proud of our Volts.
