*Maya*

After I finished showering, I put on some joggers from Gap and a oversized sweater and put my hair up in a bun.

A messy bun.

Why be fancy for a guy I barely knew? I thought.

I texted Riley:

M: What apartment is Lucas in?

R: Um, I think its the one down the hall. 6D.

M: Ugh. Okay Ill text you later.

R: BE NICE!!

M: Yeah, I'll try.

I put my phone in my pocket and walked to 6D. I knocked on his door and he opened it within 2 minutes.

"Hey. Um, my name is Maya Hart and I live in 6B. My friend, Riley, says your new and to welcome you here to the neighborhood so I'm doing what she asked." I said, bored.

"Well, thank you for the long introduction. You talk a lot," he said, laughing. "Im Lucas. Lucas Friar"

"Thanks. I try my very best to talk as much as a I can" I said, sarcastically.

Lucas examined me. What could hw possibly be looking at?

"Your very short for your age. Are you 22?"

I scolded him. "Yes.You mocking my height?"

"I guess I am"

"You might not want to do that. I get really feisty..."

"I had 24 horses back in Texas. I can deal with fiesty"

"Your from Texas?"

"Yeah. Texas"

I grinned. That gave me an idea.

"Okay, great to know, Huckleberry"

"Huckleberry?"

"Yeah, your new name is Huckleberry. Get used to it"

"This is fiesty?" Lucas said, laughing.

"Oh you haven't seen fiesty yet"

Lucas laughed. "Okay, okay"

"Your learning already"

Lucas laughed. Did he actually think I was joking?

We stood there in silence, smiling.

"Well, it was nice meeting you. If you ever need anything, make sure to ask my friend Riley, in 6C, and not me"

"Sure. Bye"

"Bye"

I walked back to my apartment. He was nice and innocent. Perfect.
