This is why

After training and practicing for months, the day that you had been training for was finally here. You were singing at your schools talent show, you were 18 and you were a senior. Michael had been there for it all, and he promised that he'd be there. But you realized that you should have never believed him. So many promises that were made to you had been broken in the past, you wondered why you thought that the man you were in love with would actually be able to keep that promise. He was older than you, but you didnt care. He showed you the only true kindness and care that you ever had experienced. 

So, when it was your turn to get up there, you were shaking and ready to give it your all. They announced your name and the song you were singing, then told you when you were ready you could start. 

The music began playing and you held the mic up to your lips. 

"Another day has gone,

Im still all alone, 

How could this be 

You're not here with me.

You never said goodbye

Someone tell me why

Did you have to go

And leave my world so cold."

Your voice shook and you took a breath to calm yourself.

"Everyday i sit and ask myself

Your thoughts drifted to how Michael wasnt here to watch you perform like he promised. Tears came to your eyes.

I thought i heard you cry

You though about how much you loved him and slowly the tears began to fall.

After you sang heart, you fell to the stage and held your body close, afraid that you would fall apart. You were crying uncontrollably. Every one in the audience was confused as to what was happening, everyone except for your elder sister. She knew of the love you held for Michael, and knowing that he wasnt here, she knew what you must have been feeling.
