'With what? You just quit your job, and you aren't looking for another one.'

'Like you have room to talk about a job. You haven't had a job in a month.'

'My boyfriend got me fired from my last job because he's too fucking dumb to do his own work!'

'Don't fucking talk to me like that.'

'Then don't tell me that I'm stupid because I can't get an A on a paper for a class that I'm not even in! Learn to do stuff for yourself.'

One of his hands gripped my neck while the other covered my mouth.

'I told you not to talk to me like that.' He hissed.

My hands desperately tried to push him away, but it didn't work. It was getting harder to breathe as the seconds went on. I started seeing spots.

'A- Alex.' I choked out.

His eyes widened before he let me go.

I gasped for air as he looked at me. When I could breathe properly again, I moved away from him.

'You said you wouldn't hurt me anymore.'

'I'll write my paper. Go home and get some rest.'

Governor rolled over beside me, bringing me out of my daze.

My pillow was soaked with tears that I didn't realize were coming out of my eyes.

I stood up and grabbed my glass of water before walking over to my suitcase. I pulled out my bottle of pain pills and took twice the dosage.

Tears continued to fall down my cheeks as I sat against the wall. I took a deep breath as I waited for serenity to take over me.

***Ashton's POV***

"Katie, I'm not getting you anything else. I already went out to fucking get you aspirin because you wouldn't stop complaining and now you don't even need it."

"Ashton, I really need ice cream."

"Then get it when you leave."

"Ashton." Katie frowned as she put her hand on my thigh.

"Don't touch me."

"Why?"

"Because I have a girlfriend that definitely is not you, and I don't fucking want you to touch me. We have thirty minutes to get to the doctors office so we can do the paternity test."

Katie pouted as she rubbed her small stomach. She wasn't showing that much, but it was apparent that she had gained weight.

"So we're really doing that?"

"Why wouldn't we?"

"I hoped that maybe you just wanted to hang out today. It's been a while since we've really talked."

"We broke up for a reason." I sighed.

"You never really told me why."

"I told you a lot of reasons. I just wasn't happy with you."

"I don't get it. We're perfect for each other."

"We don't have anything in common." I laughed.

"But you loved me a year ago. Why don't you love me now?"

"Can we just drop the subject?"

"No! I deserve an explanation!"

"Just drop it." I groaned.
