Chapter 27

***Liliana's POV***

"Liliana." I heard someone above me.

"No." I replied.

"We want to move you into another area of the hospital."

"What? That's tomorrow." My eyes were still closed.

He laughed. "It is tomorrow."

I opened my eyes. "I slept for so long."

"You sure did."

"So where are we going?"

"Just to another part of the hospital." The handsome nurse told me.

"You have nice eyes." I smiled.

"Do I?"

"Yeah. I like the little brown part on that one." I pointed to his left eye.

"It's just a genetic mutation. Not uncommon really."

"I don't know what's making me say this, but if I didn't like my boss, I might like you."

He laughed. "It might be the morphine that I just gave you."

He hooked the IV bag onto my hospital bed and put up the railing.

"You ready?" He asked as he took the brake off of the wheels.

"Mhm."

He began rolling the bed.

"So you like your boss, huh?"

"Yeah. It's a mess."

"How so?"

"He had a girlfriend that was a total bitch and she scratched my cheek because to her, I'm a home wrecker."

"Are you?"

"No, but I wish I could've been. Ashton treats me so good. He's never even said a mean thing to me. Well except for when I first met him, but that was different. The only thing that Alex ever did was this." I gestured to my face and arm.

"Alex? As in Alexander Andrews?" He asked.

"Mhm."

"That guy was all over the news."

"What? Why?"

"Because he basically killed some girl at Irwin Incorporated. I guess that girl was you."

"But why was it on the news? I'm not that important."

"You may not be famous, but Ashton Irwin is. It's not often that multimillion dollar industries shut down for a few days."

"Shut down?" I asked.

"Yeah. He closed the whole company for like three days last week. He said that it was for personal reasons."

He pulled my bed into an elevator.

I wondered if the personal reason was me. Then again, if it wasn't, what else would it be?

My hand stroked the soft blanket on my lap. It was the blanket from Ashton's house.

"He came here?" I asked.

"Who?"

The elevator door opened and we were moving down a hallway.

"Ashton."

I noticed a teddy bear that sat in the crook of my broken arm. I smiled.

"I don't know. He could've been here."
