Chapter 37

•Alex's point of view•

My fingers grasp the step that dip right before me as another string of gold weaves through the air. Pain shoots down my back and through my legs as I move under the slab of concert that plasters me to the floor. It digs uncomfortably into my shoulder blades.

Blood begins to seep between my fingers as I rest in a puddle of red, my heart pounds loudly in my ears like a drum.

My own blood drips down my face as screams of terror still ring through the room, I watch hopelessly as Emily fights with Mr. Underwood and his knife. Gold slams through the air as blood splatters the wall behind. I grunt as the weight keeps me close to the floor.

The echo of feet moves my head to the exit where hustlers shove their way through the rectangular opening.

My legs begin to tingle as I feel myself panic as the weight begins to crush me, voices ring through my head as air becomes harder to breath. My hand reaches out as the other Angel free them selfs from the chains, a few look my way but only one stops and actually takes a good glance.

Blond hair falls around her shoulders as she stays rooted in her spot, her eyes bore into my own. A sigh passes her lips before she is making her way to me. "I swear if you try to kill me when I get you out from under here I will be extremely anger." Her face only inches away from my as her fingers go to grip the corner.

"I won't..." Her eyes gleam with something "... I promise." My voice comes out choked. A swift nod of her head dents her blond locks as she carefully lifts the concrete.

Swiftly I slide out from under the weight, air rushes into my lungs as I bend over to catch my breath. "Thank you." I whisper to the Angel who stands by my side.

She carefully studies me for a second. "No problem, I'm Blue..." Her name odd by suits her with those icy blue eyes. ".... by the way and you might want to watch your back." Blues last words panicked as a sharp pain runs through my shoulder.

Blue screams as I turn to meet the wrath of Parker and his long blade. His face covered in anger as he swings again but this time aiming for a more deadly place. The metal catches the light from the stage.

Blue runs like a bat out of hell as I dodge the death knife, it slides next to my skin as I feel my mouth pop open, way too close.

Packers, his face covered in anger, like a large rock he falls forward ready to slice me with the knife. It slides across my skin creating a gash right below my shoulder. The skin parts like a door.

The thick substance rushes down my arm like a river as I swing forward and with a smack my fist connects with his face. The skin my hands split. Almost in slow motion his head snaps to the side with a surprised expression on his face, his mouth ajar.

Animals when offended or scared attack just like Parker, an animal like expression crosses his face as he goes in for the attack with a feral growl that could be taken as a large bears. His face could also be taken as a good sized bear.

Hands like clubs he swings forward the knife totally forgotten as I stagger back pain revolves around my arm but not on my face.

The walls still continue to fall around us as my back side hits the floor from a blow I did not see coming. My face throbs almost like I have been hit in the face with a hammer.

Energy pulses through the air, it sends Parker onto his butt as fear covers his features as he quickly flees the scene but I do not miss the panic in his eyes.

Blood covered my arms as I feel the throb of my cheek increase. My back still plastered to the floor I take a breath filled with chalky material; the room filled with dust and covered in blood.
